Campbell County 67 Bishop Brossart 18
The big 3 we're out entire 2nd half and the other two starters were out by midway thru or end of the 3rd Qtr. You lost to a much better team and you have absolutely no answer for other than "poor sportsmanship". If he wanted to Menefee could have kept them in and pressed the entire game and beat them 100+. I give Brossart players credit for playing extremely hard to the end. But sour grapes from you and others is simply a joke. Who knows what next year brings....Camel fans will definitely enjoy this year as it has a chance to be very special.

Did Coach Whitaker get the Harrison job right out of Morehead State or was he an assistant somewhere prior to getting the Harrison job?

Roy Walton Passes at 80 year of age
We scrimmaged Tates Creek three years in a row (one at UK practice field) and then ended up playing against Tates Creek in back-to-back 4A playoff games, so I became familiar with coach Walton....still remember coach Walton coming over to our lockerroom after the 1988 playoff game (very good game, and really hard loss for us) and coach Walton asked coach Ahrman if he could speak to us, he was a "CLASS ACT".....was fortunate enough to attend EKU and became friends with a couple of Tates Creek players form both the 1988 & 1989 seasons....they had nothing but great things to say about coach Walton. Much respect and RIP coach Walton....from Camel County Football

Cody Short of Newport to Thomas More College
This is great news....Cody is a top-notch player (full motor type of kid) on the field and even better off. Best of luck to him at TMC.

Campbell County 2010
Coach Culp is still a very big part of this coaching staff. Having Siple and Culp on the offensive side of the ball is nothing but a positive for the CAMELS program.

Campbell County 2010
Have lots of talent for sure....need a running attack to go along with a solid passing attack. Kremer is due for another great year...look for Matt Smith to have an impact season. Hodge, Sauerbeck, Franzen should play big roles on both sides of the ball. Heard Kevin Siple is now on the coaching staff (assume as OC)....good hire.

Kentucky Football Coaches Propose Change to Spring Football
Are you serious....Baseball doesn't have to cut? Come on man you are reaching and honestly showing your lack of "sports" education...you can't give instruction or even rule drills in Open Field, its against KHSAA rules...Spring Football coachs instruct, they install new O's and D schemes....players use school owned equipment....Open Field, not allow, again agianst the rules. Your right Fall Baseball won't allow us to evaluate those guys playing fall sports....nor will Spring Football help those kids at all who are running track or playing baseball....your statement goes back to guys getting all defensive....adding Fall Baseball takes nothing away from Spring Football or football in general. Lets talk about season because not sure you get it....Football according to you gets one month, prior to first game, then the get Aug., Sept., and part of Nov. (if they keep winning longer) to have practices, instruct and get their players/teams better....pretty sure unless something has changed still only playing one game a week which means a lot of practice time....then after the season you get Spring Football where again coachs instruct players. Baseball because of cuts get about 2 1/2 weeks after tryouts before first game and with the main issue being weather at that time sometimes most if not all that time is spent in a gym where you can't take complete INF/OF or live BP (Pitcher throwing to a Hitter and players making plays)...once season starts typically have 4-5 games scheduled weekly, with concerns of arm injuries, on days off, honetly not awhole of instruction going on...thats the sport of baseball I get it....what you don't get is the need for Fall Baseball to help get ahead of Mother Nature and be ahead of the game..... Tell me what your beef is against having Fall Baseball KHSAA approved if and as I suggested it doesn't take away from another sport?

Have seen that regarding practice fields but not game fields....would think the mound would be an issue, not sure who that works. Props to your coachs for sure....

Also, about the baseball thing...doesn't baseball already get to play AAU or summer ball right after their season in the summer? I think they do! The above statement from you is why I replied to you....

Kentucky Football Coaches Propose Change to Spring Football
Sorry one more thing....someone is saying you can't have Fall Baseball, they KHSAA.... The arguement that baseball has fall leagues and summer doesn't apply....so when its Basketball tryouts high school coachs should just select thier teams based on how the players performed during their summer leagues...please agree the answer is NO....same regarding Baseball and summer teams and fall leagues...the High School coachs need to evaluate the guys trying out and the whole issues is having KHSAA approved Fall Baseball would help make the tryout process much better for all involved (players, coachs, etc.)

Moving the Football window doesn't effect baseball at all...itsn't a concern. You make a good point about the season still having games cancelled...trust me i get that...the whole thing with Fall Baseball would again deal with the evaluation process...think about they would be in prime baseball shape and mode to tryout.... your kid cuts now and the team went outside twice and he never saw live pitching, be honest, your not happy, why would you....just because that is they way it is now doesn't mean it should be and that it can't be changed.

Kentucky Football Coaches Propose Change to Spring Football
Only speak of what i know and NKY has quite a few of turf fields....SoBaseball does play in lower 30's....played during a snow fall the past two years. Again were talking about evaluating and telling a kid sorry son, your not good enough....based on what we've seen taking rubber balls of the gym floor and batting against the jug machine. The argument about Nov. your talking about what 1-2 games and that is if your teams makes the playoffs and not playing a team w/turf field...again going from what I know, NKY, COV.CATH, Highlands, Beechwood, Dixie, Simon Kenton, Scott (getting this year)....and in the past if was a playoff game that had to be played schools tend to go to a turf field be a HS not playing or a local college to get the games...so sorry but your arguement is weak. Seems when you bring this up the Football guys tend to be on the defensive....not trying to take anything away from Football...trying to make it better for all involved....most educated people get the concept that there is "Power In Numbers"....if all coachs from the three major sports sought out change, would think more likely to get somewhere with it. BigCatDaddy not trying to take a jab at Football simply point out the facts....how does allowing those student athletes not playing a fall sport to practice with the school baseball team for 5-10 days....please enlighten me who and what sport it hurts. Not once have I suggested that "KHSAA approved" Spring Football be taken away....just wanting to add "KHSAA approved" Fall Baseball.....

Kentucky Football Coaches Propose Change to Spring Football
I will say this....the message we've rec'd from our AD is absolutely no coaching at anytime outside the timeframe "Start of Tryouts 3/15 - End of Season" after that window has closed all high school coachs are to be hands off and NO high school equipment and/or fields should be utilized for any team....yeah I am sure, strike that know, there are schools that think they are doing a good job "masking it"....you know calling their Fall Ball the Braves yet is made up of all of high school players from the year before and they use the high school field and equipment and the high school coach not be the "official" coach but rather a volunteer.....the cover how WRONG and against the rules this is each and every year at the KHSAA Baseball Coachs conference....

Kentucky Football Coaches Propose Change to Spring Football
Are you serious....Football is a sport that can be played in any sports and with the turf fields popping up "left and right" especially in NKY weather (particularly rain) shouldn't cancel a game....guess your not custom to baseball in late March and early April that range from the low 40's to the mid 50's, if were lucky. Also, last time I checked no portion of the Football field is dirt/clay...pretty certain it is GRASS or TURF field....to enlighten you Baseballs primary playing surface (Mound/Batters Box / Base Paths) are dirt/clay....when it rains or in this cases snows it takes time for them to dryout thus cancels games....yeah GRASS Football fields do get slopply but still can pretty much play the game without concern for players health...not the case in Baseball. Think about it.....

Kentucky Football Coaches Propose Change to Spring Football
Open to anything that truly levels the playing field....logic is clear on this argument....by far baseball/softball are affected by weather more so than any other high school sport....season is typically shortended (never play all games that were schedule - understand you will have rainouts, but some years it has been a 3rd or even half the season taken away --- yet to see a season in FOOTBALL or BASKETBALL when this happened)

Once again someone proving my point - the HIGH SCHOOL COACHS aren't coaching....not sure how well your school follows the rule, but if they do they you should know that your HS coachs CAN NOT be associated with the team. 5 to 7 days (outside on the field) to evaluate players for the upcoming season and conduct tyrouts for athletes NOT involved in a FALL school sport would be a great tool.... As it stands now some programs have 2 to 3 days of tryouts (which is truly unfair) and make cuts without see a player hit LIVE pitching, throw to LIVE batters, or take a TRUE round of infield.....the weather disadvantage in the tryout time that is set now by KHSAA is unreal. If I remember correclty FOOTBALL makes how many cuts....oh thats right ZERO. Cutting a kid without truly getting a chance for them to showcase their ability and lets be honest as a coach perform a solid evaluation....excuse my language sucks! We wouldn't ask BASKETBALL to make cuts from simply watching a kid dribble and go through conditioning.....without ever watching shoot, go after a rebound....yet in BASEBALL that is basically what happens. In the grand scheme of things the STUDENT ATHLETES are get cheated....

Kentucky Football Coaches Propose Change to Spring Football
You seem to be proving my point...I'll explain it for you....Isn't this the same arguement against Spring Football....(players involved in other sports at the time of Spring Football) think so. And you are correct...nothing to stop them from having "Open Field" however during SPring football the coachs are conducting practices that have COACHS giving (most introduce system changes at this time) instruction.....yet the KHSAA does step as baseball coachs CAN NOT give any instructions or even use school equipment (if you are following the rule to the letter) so "Open Field" there is to be ZERO coaching being done. The point isn't mute it is truly valid point....again not looking to take anything away from other sports looking to make it equal. 2

Kentucky Football Coaches Propose Change to Spring Football
Spring "Football".....Summer hoops "Open Gym".... When does baseball get "Fall Baseball"? The KHSAA needs to level the playing field. Would be great to have 10 days with baseball (Late Sept. or early/mid Oct.)....already fighting a yearly battle with "Mother Nature"...baseball gets the raw deal. Don't want to take away Spring Football or Open Gym just want to make it even across the board....big time unjustice to the athletes and coachs of our national pasttime at the high school level in our commonwealth.

Typically don't root for the Mustangs....but would be great for them to win this one for Mitch...what a great "KID", terriable loss for the Orth and BBHS family.
