That's 101 rebounds total for the game. Meaning there was 101 shots missed. Based on the fact that neither team shot 50% that's means at least 202 shots were taken. That's 50 shots per quarter. Am I wrong here? That's an obscene amount of shots.

I'm not saying they are not legit. Just a lot of missed shots somewhere. There's only 4 or 5 players listed with rebounds so I would guess SC had some 60 to 65 boards. Then Ballard I would say had at least 30. Your looking at nearly 100 missed shots if the numbers hold true. Whatever it is, Scott County opened the season against a ranked opponant and is 1 and 0. Congrats to the Cardinals.

Ballard has no one over 6-3. With the Scott County players listed alone that's 50 rebounds. Ballard must have shot 15% from the field. I always get a kick out of the rebound states.

Manual has a bona fide leader in the state's top player in Jenkins. Last year, Manual struggled against North and didn't appear to have any leadership. You would think with four new starters they would be somewhat out of sync. As long as Jenkins is on the court with the with the offense flowing through him Manual is a title contender. One game, one top 15 win.

Defense.

Samsel was 1 of 5 from threes, but got it done in every other area and added 14 points. He's going to be one of the better pure points around. Will only improve.

In the 11th region, I can assure you coaches never pencil in wins.

Wow. Well, these are the "real games."

Manual has a nice point guard in 5-11 Sean Samsel who is a junior and has some nice handles. Compliments Jenkins well in the backcourt. Team has good balance and quickness.

Its 1 and 0 against top 15 teams, so for Manual its a good start. Jenkins finished the game at the point guard spot and showed some versatility while Samsel, the other point was a big key in controlling the ball. Nice win.

Final. Jenkins leads all scorers with 20 points for Manual and added 6 assists. Sean Samsel added 14 points and 5 assists. North Hardin's James Berry led the Trojan's with 13 points while Greg Johnson added 11.

Garrard County is not a good team to make any analysis on and I believe you know that. What team in Lion Mania's opinion wouldn't have trouble with Elliott County? It's interesting to note that you point out "three players doing the bulk of scoring." That seems ironic.

I don't think Eta nor the rest of the state thinks Elliott County is fearful of losing. Some are just searching for a justification to why Elliott County is ranked in the top 5. The coaches voted it. I think that speaks more volume than anything. Many see that Elliott does play a schedule that's not on par with the other top 5 teams. And I do agree, its not EC's fault the 16th is not a strong region. Though some are looking for that signature win that says EC is legit. Kinda like WKU beating UL today. I have stated it before and I am probably wrong for saying so, EC doesn't own a single top 30 win from last year and they don't face a single a single threat of a top 40 team until they reach the Sweet 16 from district to regionals on. It really doesn't matter what a team is ranked, you gotta play each game with the same approach. Every fan has an opinion and most are biased. The one opinion that counts most is how the coaches view you and they say Elliott is top 5.

You have to wonder with Trigg County beating Madisonville easily and Elliott County doing the same, how much Madisonville will need to improve to win the 2nd region. I feel better about GRC's chances in the 10th region even though they got beat by 20 or so by Elliott then by 41 by Corbin.

Imagine that. One of the state's top two players putting team first instead of scoring 40 points. What's wrong with this world?!?
