My gut says Highlands is going to pull this one out because I know how good they are and no doubt I was rooting for them last week. But a part of me would like to see Whitley County pull it out and head to Papa John's Stadium for the first time [is that what someone said!]. Either way, I gotta go with my gut..Highlands by 2 TD's.

Good to hear about Tiepel getting some looks. I believe I read an article where his coach stated he really wasn't getting the looks they expected at all. This was a while back so I'm glad things picked up for him.

I'd go with Kues although he is not a TRUE QB, he was the best up here. But he is not a D1 QB so that is why he was not entered into the conversation, and he is also a senior right? Guidugli was not better than West. And I DO think West will be the best QB up here next year. I can't comment on Bardo's QB'ing ability as I've never seen him play, though I've heard he is good.

Actually yes. And I still think he is not a big D1 player. As Cooperstown said possibly small D1. We aren't going to be seeing him at Florida, or Alabama or even UC i'd think.

Yepp, the two names I remember most were Richardson and Dillon for JC when I was down there 2 weeks ago. Good RB.

To be honest, I think you might end up disappointed. Collinsworth and Roller are the only ones I've seen who have LEGIT D1 chances. This Bardo that you all speak about might, as I did hear he was a good QB [have heard he would not start on EVERY school up here as some think, but that he would at a few] and obviously he is a solid DB so we shall see. Beyond that I doubt it is D1, more so just good highschool ball players, who can play at the next level, just not necessarily D1 caliber.

I'd say most people use the excuse that they don't have all their football players, therefore; not at full strength as a team. The most valid of the reasons is that it is early. Teams are still working on their chemistry and working with which lineup works best in which situation. Scrimmages are practices for game situations, so it makes sense that the excuse it's early would come into play.

No I think he hit it. Collinsworth and Roller are the top two D1 prospects from Highlands next year. Who else would you put? And you can't name the entire roster..

Ahh, yea. I was going to say maybe a small D1 would be a good fit. And I agree he has more potential than some being named. I'm also in agreement with anyone who is disagreeing with all the Highlands names being thrown out. No doubt that Highlands has some great players, but that does not translate to D1. As someone else said in here, didn't the 07squad only get 2 full scholarship D1'ers?

Really? I would think Collinsworth would be a "no doubt" as well. Quainoo with the numbers he has put up, that is why I said it in regards to him.

I know you were at the scrimmage based on your posts, so how did Counts, Ives, and Sorrell do? IMO whether Ives does well [as I think he can] as a PG will depend on how well CCH can do offensively. If CCH is forced to have Shover at PG it hinders his ability to shoot and drive more effectively as he would at the Shooting guard position.

I do not see West as a D1 football player. But I agree with the rest. Quainoo, Simpson and Collinsworth are no doubts.

Wellbrock and Isler will be the primary post players together. Zach IS the center. Wellbrock plays more of a four and five when Zach is out. They will need both of them together because they work well together. Wellbrock gets down on himself too often and too quick and that will hinder him a lot I think. Both of them WILL need to step it up for this team to go anywhere, because they can not live and die by their guards..they just aren't good enough.

I think Highlands was 4th or so behind Holmes, CCH, and Boone anyways. Besides Holmes there isn't one dominate team up in NKY, all are good, but not GREAT. And even Holmes hasn't really played up to what I think they can during the scrimmages. So anything can really happen...but agree that Highlands will more than likely have their hands full with Mason County.

It doesn't surprise anyone I'm sure. But they NEED to. It's pretty obvious... I also was told that CCH struggled vs. the press. It is very promising for Isler to come out today and play less than ten minutes as someone in here said, and come out with above 10 points and 4 rebounds. Someone earlier on said that Isler would need to step up big time in order for the colonels to do well this season, and this looks like a good sign. Really will be nice to have Shover back to 100% eventually, good kid, good ballplayer. With his presence at guard, Maile's at forward, and Isler's at center it will be a solid lineup. How did Wellbrock, Counts, and Ives do?

I'd say Dale will go deep atleast one more time during this drive. He's 2 for 2 with the deep ball with 2 td's.

Sounds like JC's offense really self destructed during this drive.

JC is down 28-14 now. JC hasn't been able to stop the HHS offense enough to keep running the ball.

Highlands needs to get a stop here and then score. If they get up by two scores, it's over. JC doesn't have a good enough passing game to play from behind.
