Highlands 72 Louisville Fairdale 57 Scrimmage

Featured Replies

Eta Roh reports that Highlands looked very good today in their scrimmage down in Louisville against Fairdale.

Scoring

Highlands 22 14 16 20 - 72

Fairdale 15 10 17 15- 57

Fairdale instituted a full court press in the 3rd period that caused Highlands fits but only briefly. To start the final period Highlands scored the first 6 points in route to the 15 point victory. 4th period scoring for Highlands was reportedly Kowolonek with 6, Grote 6 and Dill with 4.

Highlands destroyed Grant County on Wed night and now beat a very good Fairdale squad.

They have a big task in Mason Co this week for their first regular season game.

Highlands looked very good. They were very physical and played hard. Fairdale really missed Quintrel Morris in the game. Coach suspended him for the scrimmage.

Just got home from the scrimmages. Highlands is going to be better than some nky folks think. Once they get the football kids back, they are going to be a top 3-4 team in the 9th.

They play very physical and are tough to defend around the rim. Kowolonek and Grote played great today. Both are going to be huge for the Birds. Press bothered them a little to start the 3rd quarter but once they settled down, they scored quickly and often.

Fairdale had a pretty good guard, #24 I believe who had a personal 6-0 run during the 4th. I know they were missing the Morris kid, but if Fairdale is the best the 6th region has to offer, I don't think the 6th is that strong this year.

The 6th region has some good teams but know great teams early. The Morris kid gives Fairdale size and and a physical game. Hard to replace 15 pts and 8 rebs per game. I relaly liked Highlands. How many football players will play.

I really liked the pg (#3?) and #24 from Fairdale. Two solid players.

As far as football players for Highlands, I believe Grubbs (6'5), Collinsworth (6'1), and Welz maybe are 3 players who will be coming out from football.

Sounds like Highlands might have a decent team this year.

They should be better than decent. Fairdale is a pretty darn good team that was favored to win the 6th and Highlands pretty much dominated them this year. Highlands physical style of play will cause a lot of trouble for a lot of nky teams.

I think Highlands was 4th or so behind Holmes, CCH, and Boone anyways. Besides Holmes there isn't one dominate team up in NKY, all are good, but not GREAT. And even Holmes hasn't really played up to what I think they can during the scrimmages. So anything can really happen...but agree that Highlands will more than likely have their hands full with Mason County.
