  1. Lets see...against Taylor Co. Two of the touchdowns were scored by a freshman who plays RB and OLB. He had one rushing TD and a INT for a TD. Also the starting OLB picks up a fumble and scores, runs a kickoff back for a TD. The starting offense runs one series in the second half and the rest of the game was played by the JV and freshmen. Against Metcalfe Co....the starters played one series in the second half and the remainder of the game was played by JV and freshmen. Pendleton scored the TD on the series the varsity was in during the second half. After that, there was a fumble picked up and returned for a TD by the OLB. The freshman OLB intercepted a pass and returned it for a TD (much like the game against Taylor Co.). The last two touchdowns were scored by the freshman QB on a run and the freshmen FB on a run. However, Metcalfe Co. kept their starters in and was denied on any drives by the JV defense. So not much else could be done unless you don't field a team and let them run against air... I hope this answers your questions since you seemed so concerned. Green Co. is a very physical smash mouth football team and if you can't respond to the physicality of the game than you are going to be embarrased, point blank! :thumb:
  2. I noticed according to these stats that only 1 kick punt & kickoff has been returned for a touchdown. Not really understanding the hype or question of why or why not to kick it to him. Not real impressed with the stats that everyone is discussing. :thumb:
  3. Just to let you know big guy...there has been more than 4 guys scoring for this team. This is scoring through 7 games for the Dragons: Rogers (TB) 126 pts. Pendleton (QB) 114 pts. Burton (OLB) 42 pts. Ri. Garrett (FB) 24 pts. Newby (OLB) 22 pts. Ro. Garrett (DT) 11 pts. Morgan (WR) 8 pts. Sode (DE) 6 pts. Stone (FS) 6 pts. Romines (FB) 6 pts. Taylor (CB) 4 pts. Janes (DT) 4 pts. Goldsmith (WR) 2 pts. McDermott (QB) 2 pts. Total Dragon points through 7 games is 377 points ! :thumb:
  4. Just to let you know COACH HARD and SEMPERFIFALCON, there was 9 different guys that scored a touchdown or a two point conversion in this game. Those guys were: Pendleton (starting QB), Rogers (starting TB), Garrett (starting FB), Morgan (starting WR), Newby (starting OLB), Burton (starting OLB that is a Freshman), Taylor (non-starting TB), McDermott (freshman QB), Romines (freshman FB). As you can easily see, this is not a 4 man team and the coaches did not deliberately run the score up. If you can't stop the JV and freshmen than sorry about your luck, especially when you are still playing your own starters. :thumb:
  5. Not sure where you are getting your info because Coach G doesn't plan on leaving any time soon. The talent here in Green is going to continue for quiet some time. The freshman class is loaded and the younger guys below them are just as good. They have about 200 guys playing in their little league program therefore I expect the Dragons to be pretty darn good for a long time. Get use to the beatdowns ! :thumb:
  6. Lets get something clear. The game was over at halftime. (40-0) The Hornets had (-18) total yards in this game. The second offense was in the whole second half. The defense scores two touchdowns in the second half on a interception ran back for TD and a fumble recovery ran back for a TD. Then the freshmen scored twice on the Hornets with the Hornet's starters still in...what else do you do in this situation. So to get on here an bash a team because they scored 70...it helps to know the situation before hand. You can't tell a freshman or JV crew not to play hard when they get the opportunity to go in. This game could have been even worse considering there were plenty of flags thrown in situation that could have given Green Co. the ball back. Metcalfe had two first downs the entire game and they both were on penalties. "I will say something and It really doesn't matter if people don't like it.... if the opposing team does not like the final score, all I can say is get better !" If the roles were reversed, and they have been, the Hornets would have not stopped scoring either...case in point was last season during the second round of the playoffs when the Hornets were up 41-14 on the Dragons and every starter for Metcalfe Co. was still in the game. Way to go Dragons !!! :thumb:
  7. I too will agree with SEMPERFIFALCON and TSYOUNG. However, because the game is such a heated rivalry, will the officiating keep the score closer than it should be? I hear from a good source that Metcalfe Co. is going to try to hold the ball until the end of the play clock and try to keep the ball from the Dragon offense. A tactic like this tends to frustrate the kids, so I look for Green County's Defense to score a couple touchdowns in this one. This stall tactic may work for sometime but eventually the game will take over and the Dragons blow the Hornets away. I will not predict a score but believe that in the end, this one will be a night the Hornets will want to forget. :thumb:
  8. A very heated rivalry in which both teams really can't stand the other. Green County is on a roll standing at (6-0) and Metcalfe County is (2-4). However, Metcalfe County has the home field advantage. The absence of Daniel DeLeon has been a huge factor in the Hornets, so with that being said...who wins this 2A District 3 clash? :thumb:
  9. 5: Beechwood 3: Corbin 3: Jeffersontown 1: Letcher County Central 1: Mercer County 1: Clay County 1: Woodford County 1: Pulaski County 1: Scott County 1: Graves County TB: 62 points

  12. 7: Daviess County 5: Lone Oak 3: Graves County 2: Greenwood 1: Christian County TB: Daviess County
  13. Green plays around 30-35 players every friday night so when they start to sub, the level of play does not drop that much. Total domination...and everyone plays. :thumb:
  14. The Dragons roll in this one....and everyone played! The JV played the last two series of the first half, half the third quarter, and all the fourth. So noone can say we didn't call the dogs off...not much you can do when the freshman tailback scores twice and defense scores twice all in the second half. Sr. TB #46 Zeth Rogers: 5 touchdowns (4 rushing TDs, 1 recieving TD) Sr. LB #32 Cam Newby: 2 touchdowns (1 kickoff return for TD, 1 fumble recover for TB) Fr. TB #22 Donovan Burton: 2 touchdowns (1 rushing TD, 1 interception return for TD) Sr. QB #12 Justin Pendleton: 1 touchdown (1 rushing TD, passed for a TD) Jr. FB #20 Ricky Garrentt: 1 touchdown (1 rushing TD) 4 rushing 2 pt. conversions, 1 passing 2pt. conversion, and 2 PATS. The Dragon offense and defense really had it rolling against a team that came in at 4-1. Nice Job Dragons !!!
  15. Has anyone on here seen Taylor Co. defense? They give up 643 total yards of offense last week against Garrard Co. I don't mean to sound like a broken record because I posted this earlier. The Dragon offense is one of the most explosive offenses in class 2A. Do you honesty think Taylor can hold the Dragons under 30 points? I really like all of the doubters that has Taylor winning this game. Come late Friday night, I will say "I toeuso".
  16. 2A Glasgow Scotties are a good team that currently stands at 0-5. A very physical team that has two big backs. They have been beaten by 5A Allen County-Scottsville(top ten in 5A), 2A Caldwell County (solid squad), 5A Barren County (rivalry game), 4A Larue County (young up and coming team, lost in 2 ot's), 2A Green County (currently #3 in 2A). They play Russellville, Monroe County, Metcalfe County, Franklin-Simpson, and Campbellsville in their remaining regular season schedule. I am going to say they end up 3-7 regular season.
  17. 5: Trinity 3: Mayfield 3: Lex. Christian 1: Campbell Co. 1: Anderson Co. 1: E-town 1: Dixie Heights 1: Middlesboro 1: Lafayette 1: Bullitt East TB: 69 pts.
  18. The Falcons will roll in this one. Knox probably will not even score. I am going to say 65-0. :thumb:
  19. SUGARAY....do you actually think Taylor Co.'s Defense can hold the Dragon offense to just 21 points? The Dragon offense is averaging 45.8 points a game with two guys that is highly ranked as scoring leaders in the entire state....Garrard Co. had 623 yards of total offense on the Cardinals....if you honestly believe that, I think you have caught a few too many right hands from Marvelous Marvin Haglar.
  20. G1: DeSales G2: Lex. Christian G3: Trinity G4: Middlesboro G1: Campbell Co.
  21. 7: Campbell Co. 5: Dixie Heights 3: Ludlow 2: Lloyd 1: Grant Co. TB: Ludlow
