I had a nice EndzoneEyeCam of this scrimmage. Both teams are extremely tough and should have great seasons. Here is exactly what I saw: The Eagles of LCA got off to a great start scoring 3 times in the first series of 10 plays. Green County however scored 1 time in the first 10 plays. The second series was different as the Dragons began to settle in and control the tempo. The Dragons gapped big runs on the Eagles eventually scoring 2 more TDs during the second set of 10 plays. The third series saw the Eagles scoring once while the Dragons tacked on two more scores.
With a break taking place to let the young guys play, the 1's stood at Green County with 5 touchdowns to Lex. Christian's 4.
The JV units took the field with great fire. It did not take long for the JV unit from Green County to get on the board. The Dragons made this period an onslaught as they scored numerous times on the ground as well as in the air. Some very solid Freshmen/Sophomores for the Dragon squad. This period became a little embarrassing for the Eagles as it closed with the Dragons scoring 13 touchdowns and the Eagles going scoreless.
As the format changed a little, the 1s took to hitting once again. The play was a 4 down game type scrimmage that saw some interesting things happen. The running backs from Green County seem to have a different gear in open field. The Eagles went back to the air but was only able to capitalize on one more score. The Dragons however saw the endzone 2 more times as well as many more gapping holes that picked up large gains. Ending the 1's series overall at 7 - 5 in favor of the Green County Dragons.
Overall I was real impressed with both teams once everyone settle in. I didn't know exactly what to expect from the Dragons from Green County because of not knowing much about them. However, they have 3-4 really good backs, a good quarterback, and as couple good recievers on offense. On defense, #81 stood out to me as well as #4 and the freshman linebacker. On the Eagles side of the ball, #7 at QB, #30 at running back, and #1 at reciever are all very good players. I expect the Eagles to contend in Class 1A for the state title. Both of these teams could very well be seen in December playing for the State Championship of their class. I was overall impressed by what I seen from the EndzoneEyeCam !
My heart and prayers go out to the LCA lineman (Josh Ballard) who seems to have suffered a knee injury that could end his season at such an early stage.
GOD BLESS BOTH TEAMS !!! :thumb:
