I am proud of them, Neers. We've improved so much from the beginning of the year. We've got a tough bunch of youngins here in Harlan County. This team may be peaking at the right time. Hopefully, here in about 2 weeks, we'll get a chance to see the Engineers and the Black Bears play again. That's my plan anyhow.

The rain didn't have too much affect on the Engineers when they played the Bears.:cry: That offense that is "like watching paint dry", should chug right on down the field with no problem. What I'd like to know is what are the words to that "Working on the Railroad" song that they sing after their games? I suspect Somerset will be hearing it Friday, so why not give us a preview.

I used to get real concerned when I heard a team threw the ball, but our pass defense has really really improved over the past couple of games. I'm not that concerned about the bus ride. Our guys wouldn't know what to think if they didn't have to get in a bus and travel 3 or 4 hours. After looking at their stats, it really does look like our teams are equal on paper. I guess we will have to see who wants it more. ......also we have the Larkey Factor. :thumb:

My hope is that Calton/Ison/Roberts will be able to tell us what type of cologne this running back is wearing after the game. GO BLACK BEAR DEFENSE!

I didn't get to go watch the Somerset game. Listened to it on the radio. The Bears made a bunch of silly mistakes against Somerset and let them make a game of it. Estill should win this one easily, especially against "a bunch of 14 and 15 year olds" as Cobb said.

I had read some of those comments and they rubbed me wrong too. I'm not familiar with Coach Cobb. Is he usually such a cry baby? Maybe he was just having a bad day..... That first comment was a tad bit personal , I thought.

Another thing, after Harlan Co. allowed Estill to score I'm sure our defense was pumped and ready to stop that run and NOT allow them in the end zone. It was muddy, slick, and raining and they dug in deep. Estill had ran all night. Estill never passes and I don't think they had passed all night to my recollection. So what did Estill do to score that 2 point conversion??? A pass. It was risky, but it worked. So the Bears march down the field getting first down after first down to stop that clock...........time ran out on the Bears, but they never quit! Too bad "almost" only counts in horseshoes and hand grenades.

Here was the situation Koach, Estill 21- Bears 20 Estill up by 1 with 1:45 on the clock and they were in the red zone. Allow them to score and then that would make the score 27-20. The plan was to NOT allow the 2 point conversion, but it failed. The hope was to stop the 2 point conversion, rush back down the field to score 6 then put the ball across the goal line for the two point conversion. It could have been 28-27. Estill was just gonna eat the clock and it was our only chance.

Tell "team mom" that "former pee wee coach" said she looked fat in those jeans and her chilli tasted like garbage. Sit back and watch the fireworks.
