OH I got one: What team/year had the largest amount of football players to receive scholarships in Harlan county? Name them.

I hope you're right HDE! He's gotta a lot of hard work ahead of him. All of mine love football! I hope they can all stay healthy and keep focused.

I don't have any on the team Bubba. All mine are just little cubs. I don't think that anybody's postion is in stone right now, except maybe Blanton at QB. It will all be decided when they put the pads on. There ain't a whole heck of alot to talk about other than how fast or how strong they are. It must be so frustrating for the coaching staff who is trying to decide who to put where on this new team when you can only do so much with a helment on. When do they hit?!

I have to comment or I'll bust. Bell Co. pouts because Middlesboro and Corbin will not play them in high school football. Here we have a team, New Harlan Middle School Football, that wants to play and Bell County's coach refuses. What's the logic? We are begging, pretty please, with sugar on top, play our middle school football program! New Harlan has never denied Bell a game, has never ran from Bell, and wants this game to happen. These games will lay the foundation for the big high school rivalry. We play teams like Belfry, Whitesburg, Knox, Pennington gap, ect. The notion that our program wanted Bell out of the CVC is crazy. Put aside the ego and let the kids play! You all sound like the pot calling the kettle black! :sssh:

"The Harlan County School Board voted Thursday to name the Harlan County High School football stadium in honor of late superintendent Needham Saylor."-Harlan Daily Enterprise I say we get a name for the baseball field, softball field, the track, shoot, we can even name the concession stands or the press box. Just get to work on it! At least it sounds like another move in the right direction. A wise man came up with a great idea of calling the whole sports complex, The Harlan County Coal Miner's Memorial Sports Complex. It thought that would be very fitting.

We've found some more help in regard to our outside athletic facilities. Baby steps, baby steps . :ylsuper:

I don't know that either. I slipped and watched them when I went to pick up one of my son's friend. They are practicing in the baseball field for some reason. The newly planted grass on the field and the newly painted stands are looking nice. It'll do for one year, but next year we need to be in Rosspoint on that new turf field!

I dunno, we haven't thought that far ahead! lol They'll have some at the field house I am sure. We haven't decided on a price yet, but I was thinking we should charge about $50,000 each to pay for our new football stradium! :thumb:

Everything's cool as can be. lol We'll be having a poster with the teams picture and schedule on it hopefully by Monday. This will be a keepsake for all us Black Bear fans! Sure would be nice to know if Powell is gonna play us or not before this thing is printed up......

48- 7th and 8th graders signed up!! 39 came out today! 32 5th and 6th graders signed up!! Now listen to me, I am definately biased when I say this but...........wow. They are gonna be tough. :ylsuper: Alot of talented young boys out there. A really athletic group to say the least. :thumb: I gotta feeling that things are gonna be fun again this year. I could barely get mine to go to sleep last night because they were so excited and the phone has rung off the hook from their buddies being excited.
