  1. I talked to Brain Meenach yesterday and he said that he was indeed coaching the freshman team. He is a great guy and the boys do like him.My son referred to him as like a second dad because he always checks his report card to make sure he is doing good in school.
  2. Thanks for the info Doc.:thumb:
  3. Okay I'm really confused :confused:now. So besides spring practice when will say Greenup be able to start practices?
  4. Will Coach Copley be taking Sammons place in the weight lifting class any time soon? Also does anyone know who the Coach's assistants are for sure? Did Brain Meenach accept the job,and is Mullins staying? :idunno: I had heard that K.B. Johnson was going with Sammons but was not for sure about the rest of the crew.
  5. I couldn't agree with you more, and these boys love the game. And when the new coach gets to GC I believe he will be able to bring even more out of these young men.
  6. It is so nice to hear words like RESPECT,LEADER, and IMPRESSED all about a coach for GC. I believe this is exactly what we have needed for a long time. Now if the boys can learn the words TEAM,HEART,and LEADERSHIP then things will start to change and we will see a new football team. :dancingpa
  7. I think the boys are very eager to get started and bulking up will just be the topping of the cake!:jump:
  8. A spring practice would be a really sweet bonus to watch.
  9. So Coach Copley will be at school for sure on Monday? And if so are they going to start spring practice as well? :idunno:
  10. Anything is possible if they really set their minds to it. I believe with the right mind set these boys can do anything!!!!
  11. Any news on the coach meeting with Matt Baker?
  12. We will be there next Friday to help with the field. I would love to see the weather be as nice next weekend, as it has been the last couple of days.
  13. Coal Grove has been added to the schedule this year and If I'm not mistaken replaced Lewis county. Mason is still on the schedule.
  14. Ram I had heard that the schools were not having the passing league this season due to some changes that allowed the boys more time off in the summer,Is this true?
  15. I believe for Greenup to be sucessful this year the boys need to believe in them selfs as a team. For a few years now they have been surrounded by such negative things that I believe they started to think maybe alot of it was true. Now with the new coach and his wonderful attitude and the faith that he has already shown them they can believe in them selfs again. Anything that this team sets their mind to can be done if they are willing:clap:. Work hard in the weight room and on the field, stay focused and listen to your new caoch and this will be a very exciting year:jump:. I for one am looking for a Great season. Boys if you are reading this we the fans are rooting for you and know that you can have what you set your minds to accomplish.Have a great season and may it be injury free. I LOVE the MUSKETEERS!!!!!!!!!!!!
  16. Thanks for the info Purefan.
  17. Sorry I didn't get the memo in time. Can someone tell me what was decided?
  18. Who has the most speed for Greenup?
  19. You are absolutely right about school being for education. But I believe that all students that are playing sports have to keep up their grades in order to play.So with that being said it gives the kids some who otherwise would not even try in school make better grades to be able to keep playing the sport they love.I know for our house the boys have to make A's and B's or the sports are not an option. In other words what I'm saying is sports helps give the kids incentive to get a education.JMO
  20. Very well put Purefan:thumb:Why is it that when someone tries to do good for a community there is always someone who tries to knock them down? I would love to see the Turf but if not I do believe that the other projects are a must,Football is indeed the biggest money maker for the school.
  21. I totally agree with you on the business manager. Some of the things he said were way out of place and just as the guest speaker told him should be discussed at a later time.He was just there to present the turf not to hear how much money we do or don't have. Keep working behind the scenes and keep us posted .:thumb:
  22. Terry waugh has lots of speed and loves to hit hard. Curious to see where he will play on Defense as well? Believe he will play both ways.Brain Meenach said the same thing last night.Brain has also been asked to coach not sure if he has accepted or not.
  23. I agree there were some board members who seemed very interested but no one really showed how much money that the school could really make from the turf. There was alot of people at the board meeting more than I have ever seen. Football has definetly got the community talking and I think the excitment is great.
  24. Great news everyone:banana:.Just heard that about 70 some boys came down to meet the coach, that the coach had some really great things to say,one being that right now he knew the boys did not have his trust but he would earn their trust. He also said that they would be hitting the weights hard and was looking to have a great season.THAT THERE WOULD BE NO MORE SEASONS WITH ONLY 3 GAME WINS.Or a season with only 7 touchdowns.Everyone is getting excited and things are looking pretty good for the MUSKIES.
  25. Just found out that it is one team called the Bulldogs. But they have boys from Fallsburg and Blaine play on the team along with Louisa's middle schools team. So that is three middle schools on one team.
