  1. Who has the most speed for Greenup?
  2. You are absolutely right about school being for education. But I believe that all students that are playing sports have to keep up their grades in order to play.So with that being said it gives the kids some who otherwise would not even try in school make better grades to be able to keep playing the sport they love.I know for our house the boys have to make A's and B's or the sports are not an option. In other words what I'm saying is sports helps give the kids incentive to get a education.JMO
  3. Very well put Purefan:thumb:Why is it that when someone tries to do good for a community there is always someone who tries to knock them down? I would love to see the Turf but if not I do believe that the other projects are a must,Football is indeed the biggest money maker for the school.
  4. I totally agree with you on the business manager. Some of the things he said were way out of place and just as the guest speaker told him should be discussed at a later time.He was just there to present the turf not to hear how much money we do or don't have. Keep working behind the scenes and keep us posted .:thumb:
  5. Terry waugh has lots of speed and loves to hit hard. Curious to see where he will play on Defense as well? Believe he will play both ways.Brain Meenach said the same thing last night.Brain has also been asked to coach not sure if he has accepted or not.
  6. I agree there were some board members who seemed very interested but no one really showed how much money that the school could really make from the turf. There was alot of people at the board meeting more than I have ever seen. Football has definetly got the community talking and I think the excitment is great.
  7. Great news everyone:banana:.Just heard that about 70 some boys came down to meet the coach, that the coach had some really great things to say,one being that right now he knew the boys did not have his trust but he would earn their trust. He also said that they would be hitting the weights hard and was looking to have a great season.THAT THERE WOULD BE NO MORE SEASONS WITH ONLY 3 GAME WINS.Or a season with only 7 touchdowns.Everyone is getting excited and things are looking pretty good for the MUSKIES.
  8. Just found out that it is one team called the Bulldogs. But they have boys from Fallsburg and Blaine play on the team along with Louisa's middle schools team. So that is three middle schools on one team.
  9. If we already have the equipment, then why is it taking so long to get it set up? The boys need this they have already missed so much with getting a new coach and all.I would be willing to bet that some of the parents would even help set the equipment up if it would hurry the process. Hey by the way where is the schedule for this year?:idunno:
  10. You said it all nobody likes to loose all the time so we have had a drop of boys because of this .But I bet if the teams start winning then we will see alot more come out for the team.JMO
  11. If not mistaken I think that Lawrence county also gets players from Fallsburg middle school. Not sure but maybe even from Blaine. I know that these schools all go to the same high school . Someone let me know if this is not right.
  12. Thanks for the info Mom55 I will be there and I hope everyone else does the same. It is time to get the ball rolling .We are so excited for the school and the boys and I do believe it will all come together now .:banana:GO GREENUP!
  13. Just curious I know you said that Raceland has won the last 4 games against Ggreenup but who has won more overall games Raceland or Greenup? :idunno:
  14. Anyone know if the new coach is coming to the meeting?
  15. On another note there will be a Touchdown meeting tomorrow night at 6pm.We had several new faces at the last one and lots of people eager to help support the team and the coach.New officers were elected and now we have lots of planning to do,so everyone try and make it out.Things are looking really good for the team this year. Can't wait for the season to start.
  16. IMO if the coaches would be a little more supportive then you would have boys playing more than one sport. I know a freshmen who absolutely loves basketball and was very good he played football this year and by the time it was over the basketball coaches had all ready picked their teams and did not really give the new boys a chance. I do however believe if you are talented in a sport then give it all you got. But it also helps to play other sports and stay in shape until the next one arrives. But like I said JMO.
  17. Your are right and not only with the things you mentioned but I remember quite a few times that he has been injured or out for the rest of a season. IMO it seems like he gets hurt quite a bit.I know in the past he has had a broke collar bone and right before he transferred from Greenup his arm was in a sling and did not practice for quite some time.
  18. So is there any word when we will know what they have decided for sure? Also does anyone have info on if Sammons is staying till the end of the year or will the new coach be taking his place when the kids get back to school?
  19. I will have to agree with you on this one Doc the atmosphere at Greenup right now is amazing. And the coach has not even started yet. If things stay this positive then Greenup could be a big surprise this year.
  20. You said it well coupon "Who Cares" best of luck to the kids but we have bigger and better things to talk about:clap:. Alot of great things are getting ready to happen for GCHS and as far as I'm concerned one or two kids transferring out is not going to break our focus and our excitement about the good things to come. What ever the issues might have been is it really worth all the attention  I think not.
