You ask , I answered. The officials job is to maintain order. Sometimes that is done by keeping your cool. But like I said, you really would have to see it first hand. I would not want to let a full scale riot take place nor be a contributing factor to one as an official. If we had a tape I'm sure we could make a better informed decision. I hear "good no call" all the time in bigger games than that one. Just my opinion.:thumb:

Congratulations to the Kittens on the win. Not sure about ticky-tack fouls. Ashland took the lead when Parsley had to come out in the second because of fouls, then extended it when Simpson was out in the third with fouls. Both teams shot lights-out , rather like the lights were out. I didn't think either team played up to their potential. Russell had their chance with 4 to go but they took way to much time off the clock with their special "coached" offense as they have all year.:isurrender: It caused them to take forced shots with the wrong girls handling the ball. Sorry coach, but you may want to try something different for districts. Good luck to both teams in their districts.:thumb:

The simplest call would be to return all players and coaches to their bench with a "game over" warning for the next infraction.( Just because the book says it is an infraction doesn't mean it must be called). B shoots 2 and gets the ball for the flagrant. There was no fight, although players left the bench in a dead ball situation the intent and any call of infractions is in the judgment of the refs. In order to deescalate and continue the game this may have been the way to go. You really would need to see it to make the right call.

I'm not a fan of either team but I have watched them both play . Should be a good game. I'll go with Elliott Co. by 6.:thumb: I also would not take some of the 16th posters to serious, they have been put on the defensive by the big city posters who always bash the 16th region. Some of them do it just to get you guys riled up just as you have done in this thread.:idunno: P.S. Eta Reo, if you want to see some really good vidios just look up Elliotts on u tube. I saw them first hand .:popcorn:

If you can't get excited about a game with two teams of this caliber then you can read about it in tommorrows paper !

Should have moved this game to Winchester..............EC would have had a lot more fans. And Masons fans would have loved it!:lol:

I'll be the first to admit my prediction of a 12 point win was optimistic. The Devils lost to a very good team. I knew Menifee Co was going to be tough , but I felt like it was time for the Devils to break out. I believe they actually did for 3 quarters of the game. They just missed to many layups and free throughs in the 4th to win this one. Probably their best , or at least 2nd best game all year. They still have a good chance in the districts.:thumb:

Good coaches usually take care of that :isurrender: Bad coaches get talked about on BGP ::taz: NO !

Good win for the Lady Devils.:thumb: Just wish they were allowed to get up and go. The half court play is really draging their play down. Also has a lulling effect on their D. This group can run, if they were allowed. with two players over six feet they need to post both up. They would be tough to stop. If they don't change up , they will have trouble in the district.:idunno::idunno:

East Carter has a very good looking group of girls. Their jv plays well also. The Lady Devils didn't gaurd Marshall at all . They didn't penatrate, they didn't try to shoot much outside, and they had to many turnovers. Why in the world do they want to walk the ball up the court when they clearly have a fast group of kids?? I don't get it ! They have to change their game plan to have any hope in the district !!:idunno:

I'm just not sure at what point you call the dogs off. But If I were coaching I would think 25-30 point would be plenty. But based on some of the scores posted on here I must be to sympathetic.:lol:

Against Raceland , according to the score book, she had 21 points , 6 rebounds , and 3 assists.(how did that get missed)? :idunno: The player , Freshman, Kayla Day of Rose Hill. Nice game miss Day !

You sir, are clearly a traveled man! You should be able to add another "again" to that, this year. Rowan Co. is the best team in the 16th by far. They have dominated in games with Russell for years.(and most others too) Their margin of victory, an average of 19 points over the past 10 years, Compared to only three losses by an average of 7.( I may be a point or two off). Actually the 16th is down once again as in many years past. Rowan has about 300 + more (enrollment ) to pick from. That may help a little. Russell has lost a lot of good girls to dance and other sports for whatever reason. I believe five of their varsity girls are 8th and 9th graders. To say any team is a lock is unwise. I have seen several that should have , but didn't make it out of their region. I will be pullin for the team that goes to Diddle, they will not be picked by many to win the state.:thumb:

Wow ! I just got home and I feel left out. I have read every post on here and I gotta tell you, I must have missed it. I don't really see anyone crying in them. I believe it's coaching Philosophy they are talking about !:lol: But i'm glad CHE got to clear his mind !! That's to heavy to carry very far !

Remember, some teams in the 16th can make 20 turnovers without being pressed! And yes ,they can use their hands with the best of them.

That they are. But Rowans coach didn't seem to happy with the way they played in this one. Obviously not happy with their press , as he still had them in it up by 32 with 4min. to go. They need to concentrate on playing without illegal use of hands, they won't get away with that at Diddle like they do in the 16th. (remember, they got in foul trouble there last year). Good luck to them when they get there.:thumb:

Morgan Co. is a much improved team. I believe they take this one by 8 .
