Straight-up- If I were the Rose Hill coach, I would have had my players throw the ball in the Lawrence County basket! A 71 point spread and to score 106 points isn't necessary at any level. My opinion.

This is probably one where there was some previous animosity, payback etc. but come on. Seems like every year there is a game on here that is debated where this happens.

He actually thought about giving the coach the game ball after it was over...

It is somewhat of an unspoken courtesy or code that when the losing coach pulls his starters after trailing by 25 points that the winning coach usually does the same, this was not the case. His starters trapped and pressed a 6th grader, 3 seventh graders and 1 eigth grader....It was a great display of sportsmanship and class. Hats off to the former alumni.

One would think. I checked scores back to 2002, the two teams have played six times. The previous largest margin of victory was 31 by Lawrence Co. The other games were very close. I'm sure this coach had something to prove, but pressing with starters in the game into the fourth quarter???????

I can promise you this. When the shoe is on the other foot you won't see me playing starters when the other team pulls theirs. If you didn't get to feed your ego when you played maybe you have to do it through coaching,I would'nt know. Our kids have their heads up high and thats all that matters to me.

Let it go guys. This will come back around in a couple of years. Yes they scored 40 plus against middle schoolers but our middle schoolers scored 15 against mostly starters,so who gained from that ?

I'm just not sure at what point you call the dogs off. But If I were coaching I would think 25-30 point would be plenty. But based on some of the scores posted on here I must be to sympathetic.

Rose Hill never pounded weak teams and we never played starters other than to handle the ball with instructions to pass not shoot in blowouts.

Saw them play starters in All A final vs West Carter one year till they scored 100. Pressing the whole time.
