Congrats to Mandy , she should be fine IF she gets the right supporting cast and will actually let them help with the program. Thats where they ran into problems last season. One thing for sure , it won't take long to see the outcome. Hopefully they will get a few more talented girls back out to play. Now all that is necessary is for those in charge to create a position for the new coach, since there is not one for her at this time. Never fear , they will find a spot for her. Heaven forbid they dare hire one of the others that applied that have many years coaching experience and already teach here.:idunno:

Not really close to the program, just in the building watching the Circus. Also know one of the head Clowns. You could be right about one or two of the locals, with the right person helping!

They don't need my help dragging through the trash, they do it very well by themselves. I posted on their last coaching choice, and how did he do?, where is he now ? He was hired by the same person. Throw out the "committee", they only use it for the apperance of political correctness anyway, Sparks may have a little input, but the final choice comes down to one person ! I was just told that Cassity did not apply ?? Person said that he had been told last season that he didn't have time because of his other duties. Also noted Cassity had put many more hours on the floor with the team than the head coach. He may not even be an assistant this season ! A.T. definitely has his head deep deep in the sand. Never say things can't get worse !

It's not looking good ! But would you expect any different ? Probably going with inexperienced local. Just better hope for help from last years assistant, or assistants.They could be minus two or three top players from last year otherwise. The person that does the hiring is a complete MORON ! But most know that. The program is just not a concern to him. He is satisfied with just going through the motions and will use the same old excuse that they just don't have the talent available. He wasted last year because of his all knowing arrogance and more than likely will do it again this year.

1st one not interested - 2nd one would be ok If they want to discontinue the program ! Obviously, the girls program is NOT a priority to the man that does the hiring.

The person that calls the shots will more than likely make yet another major blunder in his choice. He just can't seem to get it right. Cassity would be the best choice based on his experience and ability to motivate. The girls like him and will run into a brick wall for him ! Don't hold your breath on the right choice, It probably won't happen. If they don't get the right person this time they will probably lose a player or two. Time is running out for the girls program and the guy that does the hiring is about as clueless as they come. The chirping on Red Devil Lane is very limited on this subject and I haven't heard who has applied as of now , but I should have names soon.

Some of the parents have said they wanted Phil Cassidy to take the job but he has been reluctant to commit. They claimed he should have had the job last year and that may be the reason he has declined so far. This was Reeds first girls basketball job and he learned they do not respond to the same methods he has used with the boys programs.

It was announced today at Russell High School that Ron Reed has resigned as the Lady Devils coach. No names have been mentioned as his replacement.

Wow, that's really going out on a limb ! That was Holmes' best half all year and I doubt any team would have been ahead of them in the first half. However their second half of play was more typical of the norm for them, so if they play the whole game like they did the second half, your right..........it won't be close.:lol:

Pretty good game overall. Holmes needs to take care of the ball and limit their fouls to win the next one. They did score 72 points. That's the ninth time this season to break 70. Still a couple of teams left that are much quicker than the one they beat today.

Ok, I watched the highlights, did they slow down the film speed ? If they didn't their fast is about average for Elliott Co.. So they will need another gear. One that will last for a whole game.:lol:

It looks to me like the people that really want to sing Holmes praises have already sounded off. I read all the posts in the hijacked thread and did not want to contribute because of it. Now that you have opened the door I think I'll enter. Holmes will not run with EC. If they do they will go belly up with their butts dragging. The claim that Holmes can run if they need to is inaccurate. I have watched them play several times and they did run, but they still didn't put that many points on the board. Their D is very good but they can't contain all five of EC's weapons at the same time. EC has better court awareness, probably because of their years of playing together. Yes I know Holmes is taller, longer, jumps higher, I've read all that stuff, but Spud Webb probably wouldn't agree with you. Your excuse for Holmes loss in this game would be "if we hadn't got in foul trouble" because that's exactly what will happen if this game is ever played. The ability for EC to handle the ball is grossly underestimated.....Now, refute all you want, I'll say no more!:idunno::popcorn:

Ashland High School joined the association in 1917. Many schools in the state didn't join until the late 1950's-60's. So in fairness to other schools, they kinda got a head start. 1917 was the first year for the association. They have been a regionally dominant team in both boys and girls basketball, but other schools are closing the gap.:thumb:
