There is Brandon Roberts from Shelby County.He played both freshamn and jv last year and was also on Shelby's Junior Legion team as an 8th grader. He caught on freshman and did a little everything on jv but was able to pitch at the jv level as a 8th grader.

I heard for a friend that kids go there and he wanted the AD job at the school. But they hired somebody else without even letting him interview for the job. Now that is second hand information.

I seen both play last year and they are good and should be better this year. Trinty had a itting coach that alot of the kids didn't like and I am sure that he is gone now. So they should do better in that area. As for X Jefferson is a good coach and would have mafe it to the state last year but the baseball gods work in CA way. If is was not for the gas and time there would be more kids from are area going there to play baseball.

Is Palmer going to school anywhere? He is good player just a little small. As far as for the Boone kid he has not really showed anythig over at Shelby yet.

Will Antony Palmer be playing short this year? And how many good pitchers do they have at Henry?

Hey HCJ45 did Henry County lose a kid to Shelby. Is that going to hurt the team.

Do you you just show up and do they let kids from other counties play with them. I know a kid that needs to with a team that plays at a high level and the parents would travel.

Who is coaching them and do they have anymore tryouts for the 16u team?

I would have to agree that they should have stayed. Where is the sportsmanship from the umpires.

I have seen this kid(Roberts) that plays on the JV and Freshman teams at Shelby. They where playing Henry Co. last night and Shelby had got behind and had 2 runners on base with no outs. When the coach put this kid on the mound. He came in and struck the first kid out, second one was 0-2 when he got lucky and hit a blopper over the 3rd basemens head that would load the bases full not your best spot to have a 8th grader in. He got a flyball to center which a kid tagged up and scored on, then he struck the next kid out. That was an awesome job to came in and get that done with only giving up 1 run. Shelby behind in the game and guess who lead the next inning off yep Roberts with a double that sparked a Shelby coem back and a 3 run lead going into th last inning. The coach elected to take the kid out for a Sophmore to shut down Henry. He was now playing second and made a good play over at that spot. But with just one out and the 2 kids on the coach tried to put the kid back in to pitch but they umpires wouldn't allow it. That is saying alot for how much you can trust this kid to get you out of an inning. He also played in the freshman game where he had 2 hit and was the catcher. When I arrived at the ballgame he was taken infield at shortstop. The Varisty coach must be excited to have a kid with that much talent in his system. I was talking to a gentleman at the game and he said that the kid has been ask if would like to attend a private school but that he wants to play at Shelby and be with his friends. Man they have got to lucky for that.

I would have to agree. Watched them play and they had a few scouts watching them and they made several errors and let that happen against sombody good and they are gone just like last year when the Rockets laid a bomb on them!!!!!

How is James doing on the team? We played with him last year and he is great kid.

We played at Shelby County Friday an they have an 8th grader (Brandon Roberts)that is awsome. He plays both freshman and JV. He look like he nows what is going to happen before it happens and he is accurate with that fine arm. I went back to see him play Saturday against Manual. He come in after the bases where loaded and shut them down. He was not overpowering but accurate with his pitches. They also put him at 2nd and he made a few plays there to. He also had the only 2 hits that Manual allowed in the jv game. Come to find out later that he was not even feeling that good that day.
