Isnt the 1998 Highlands team being honored at halftime? Just curious is that the team with Lorenzen and Smith?

I cannot wait to see this game! It will be dirty and physical for the players on the field and from the students off the field from what i hear. Hopefully nothing gets out of hand, but these 2 teams have so much passion and chemistry with each other. Which is why it is the best rivalry in Kentucky:ylsuper:

Id take Highlands 50 something to 7. Guidugli will come out firing, and if Conner does come back it will be a mess for the Colonels. Highlands will be way too fired up and quick for CovCath. I see this game being like the playoff game last year, lots of quick scores for Highlands.

Him and Crawford will both be back next week for CovCath. Crawford could have played this game but they wanted to rest him for next week and not risk hurting his shoulder more. As for Conner, Ive heard he will for sure be playing against Covcath, but things change, and I dont know if it would be wise to return that early unless hes 100%.

Roenker doesnt throw the hardest. Id say Isler, Smith, Sainola, Nutini. Roenker falls somewhere in with this group. This is by no means in any particular order, these are just the guys that Ive seen throw the hardest out of all the pitchers in nky. Also, there is alot of time between now and February so pitchers will either become stronger or weaker depending on how hard they work in the offseason.

Just because they are all from Highlands doesnt mean anything. Highlands is the best team in the state of course they are going to have the best players. My point with the offense being designed around Pat was that he is thiee main weapon, and is the guy they will go to for a big play. You really shouldnt put a player in the discussion for the best player in Nky when he hasnt proved himself against a good team yet. Maybe at the end of the year after we see him perform against the better teams, but not right now.

Yes ive seen Pat play for the last 3 years, and he is not the top player in Nky. Offensivly hes going to get his td's because Covcath's offense is designed for him too. If you put him against any good team.. (Mooney) than he will be shut down. Defensivly he makes tackles, but hes not someone I would be frightened of if I was on offense. And to name some players that either will be or are better... Guidugli, Collinsworth, Crawford, Kelly, Conner(when he returns).. and I just dont think hes better then any of these guys, but he is probably somewhere in this list.

Wow Best player in Nky eh? Lets look at who VanSant is getting his numbers against... Dixie? Newcath? How did he play against Mooney? Lets see him play against better talent before we classify him as the best player in Nky. Im sure there is alot of talent just as good or better. Sorry Oscar i didnt mean to quote you. Trust me, I am not a Covcath fan, I like Covcath just as much as I like anyteam in Northern Kentucky, I have been to alot of Covcath baseball, basketball, and football games. But I do the same with Highlands and Newcath. It just seems most of the talk on here from Northern Kentucky is about Covcath and I know alot about the program and have personal relationships with people involved with the school, and I just post what I hear or what interest me to post about.. That is what this whole site is about I would say.

You may be right, becuase I think anyone from any school will say they are going to beat everyone they play this year. And I respect that because having pride in your school is what will make a difference. However the only thing that dissappoints me is that everyone was so behind their Covcath team, but then they get blown out, and everyone starts pointing fingers. If you are going to make excuses about losing a game this bad, they shouldnt be about the long drive, or the coaches preperation. Its all about the team, and the players on the team. If people are honestly going to complain about how good Mooney was, or how far the drive was, then dont show up to the game and keep the excuses with you at home.

So are Neico, and Daniels playing because I heard from someone that they were both hurt? Regardless Beechwood is going to be very tough to beat this year. They seem to have alot of size and in the small division they play in, that will be their key to a state title.

Mooney is not a powerhouse in Ohio, they are a division 4 team, and lost to Mentor who I saw play the next week and looked like an average high school football team. Mooney was good last year but they lost almost all of their starters. I can understand losing, but with all the "talk and "emphasis" I have heard from Covcath fans this year, you would have thought they could at least give Mooney a game and not a 57-0 blowout. Before the season even started, all I heard from the fans of Covcath was that this years team is really good and would even pull off a win over Highlands. Now that Covcath was embarassed everyone finds an excuse; ( Mooney is too much of a powerhouse for Covcath to compete with). (Coach Brossart didnt have our team prepared). ( They had to drive 4 hours to play the game).:madman:

It's amazing to me that Holme's starting 5 are all somewhere in the top 10 players in the region. Id have to say I think the 9th is very down this year outside of Holmes. I dont see CovCath being very good, although Shover is very talented. Holy Cross lost alot from last year (Sorell). And then Highlands and NewCath are both very inexperienced, and will need some time before they can really be something.

Wow, Im sorry but I have to disagree very much with Romes being 3rd. Shover and Johnson are both much better, Id say after Ricardo, Elijah, Jermiah, and Shover the rest are alomst all the same

Ok, Rodenberg was defiantly a better coach, but lets look at the talent he had on that team compared to the talent on this years team. I dont think it is very fair to say "well if Rodenberg was coaching this game would have been a completly different story". Fact of the matter is that CovCath doesnt have the talent this year. I have said it from day 1, this years team is very down, they have 1 solid player and that is VanSant. So lets not put all of the criticism towards Brossart as far as the team played last night. Whatever issues are going on with Brossart they should be resolved but that is no excuse to get blown out 59-0. If this team is as good as you all are saying than theres no way they lose that game like that just because of their coach.

Was he with Midland over the summer? I thought he was with the 16 year old team which isn't nearly as competitive as the older Midland teams, but them and the Flames are the two top teams at that age, and it says alot about a player to play for a team such as Midland or the Flames. Good luck to the young man, I have only met him once and he seems like a gamer.

I would think Jeremy is going to be the coach. Who else does the program have to step in, I mean he is so involved with the team and the school knows it. It would be a real shame for him not to get the job. I agree though something needs to happen as far as communication with this to the school, I am going to inform the school, and try and pull for Jeremy as much as possible.
