Congrats Coach Gregory!

Grant is a kid that brought it everyday in practice. We all know his successes on the game field. He had to move positions and be a leader on the offensive line last year. A friend of mine who coaches at a school MC played last year told me, "#54 was the best player we played all year." Congrats!

ALOT I mean ALOT more Discipline!!!!!

Corbin has been known for its Football for over 100 years. To win State Championships at a school this size you must get every "Football Player" to play and be dedicated. Clyde Burchette once told me "Baby, you win with studs. We used to get every stud in the school to play Football." That makes a lot of sense! Corbin will never get past New. Cath if they don't get a better passing game. A kid like Wilson and Manns can contribute to this. I love Basketball, but you only get 4 years of high school sports. Parents please encourage your student-athletes to play whatever they want. I understand this is the era of people choosing particular sports for college. When you look at some of the best players even at Kentucky in the past they were 2 to 3 sport stars. It seemed to work out for them. IMO I would love to go back to high school and make some different decisions!

Central has certainly had the best personnel over their span of championships. It's going to be very difficult for Berea and Model to ever compete with having such a small number of athletes to choose from compared to Central. This district should be more open next year with Central losing 7 seniors and Southern having everyone back. There have been rumors of a North Madison HS opening in the future, we may have to wait until then for there to be true competition in this district.

Great fit for a hardnosed football player that will do whatever it takes for his team to be successful. Coach Cronin is getting a player that will represent the program at Georetown very well! Congrats!

Where's Scott Co.?

Bath County had all 5 starters back from last seasons team. Model has 3 starters that didn't even play basketball last year. It was a 10 point game in the 3rd quarter before Models point guard got in foul trouble. I have also heard rumor that Coach Scarberry plans to build a program at Model and prove his worth with the 8th grade and Freshman class. He was athletic director at East Jessamine before taking over at Model. His connections around the state are very good and winning at Model proves you can win at larger schools. Go Patriots!:thumb:

Coach Scarberry was awarded the Best Coach of Madison County in 2008. I feel that in a few years that with his coaching experience and proven record that he will should be offered available jobs around Central KY. He beat Madison Southern twice last year, which at Model is like Kentucky beating Tennessee in Football once! Rumor has it that the Madison Southern job will be available in a season or two and he will be a top candidate. What are some peoples thoughts?

I have talked to Coach Scarberry and he feels that this years team is only going to get better with experience. Model has two seniors and the rest will return next season, along with Freshman Phenom Cody Sizemore. He is out with a foot injury this season. Model beat Madison Southern twice last year with a Senior dominated team. What are some peoples thoughts on the 2008-2009 Patriots?

I have talked to Phil Russell who was a Senior on the 96 Team (WR at Union College and 3 year starter 1997-2000). He has said numerous times that too many people on that Team were individuals and forgot who they were playing for. He coached with Mike Elkin who was the coach of the Madison Southern that night at East Jessamine in 2006. He said Elkin knew Whitaker from coaching with him and loved coaching against former QB's. They tend to get "too cute" when the game is on the line. Corbin should have played "Old Fashioned" Corbin Football with Coach Farris calling the plays that year. Bargo, Warren, Prewitt, Compton, Cobb, and Neal could have easily carried the load with the running game. The Defense rolled all year. That is where Championship teams start! I personally think Corbin will be in a rematch with NCC in Round 4 at Campbell Field and the game be a great one!

Sounds like a real class act kid! Hope he has a great career at WKU!

Bobby Gibbs will be the OC in 2008. He played at Wofford College and WC will be running their offense this year (Option). WC does not have the QB to throw the ball in a system like Coach Black had at W-Burg. WC does have a bunch of quality backs that will fit into the Wofford system very well. Good Luck Colonels!
