I agree. Miller played consistently during the tourney and when Mason County went exclusively to Miller at the start of the 3rd quarter, Miller delivered in the post. Congrats!

Shelby County gave them a good game too. How many top 30 wins did Elliott have again?

Sanford had the benefit of Stewart and Smart stretching the defenses this year too. Next year will be a different game. I'm hoping Slone ends up with a scholly. He's a great kid, level-headed, and at 6-3 could offer a team with a good combo-guard skills set. Good luck Landon at the next level.

Hats off to Shelby County. They played with more heart and determination than any other team has played Mason County. No one worked harder than the kids from Shelbyville. They proved to the state they are one of the best.

An 11-loss team? What about a team that only played 4 top 30 teams and lost all 4 of those games? What if they played 10 or 11 games against top 30 teams and lost all of those? Would they still be considered a top team as they were with the 4 losses? I don't think you can break it down this way based soley on the number of losses. Some teams in the Sweet 16 are just lucky to have been in those weaker regions where most of the games are not in question.

Mason County lost a little respect though. Lexington Catholic is clearly the best team in the state and the unanimous choice to win it all. Elliott County did show it can compete. Does anyone know Elliott County's record against top 25 teams this year? Good season, EC will be back in the 16 next year especially with the transfer happening at RH. Some folks did say PT could make it to the finals. It will be interesting for sure with Mason not clicking on all cylinders.

Good game. Mason County didn't look as sharp tonight and will need to get much much better if they want to get to the finals. Free throws. I thought Elliott did a good job of slowing the game down and had a chance for their first legit win of the season and it would have come at a great time.

Xavier U is out they have already filled their three schollies for '08 and two are guards, but I do hope he finds a school that can use Slone's game. Good luck the next game.

I think it was his AAU coach that got him to this level. And its your opinion that Louisville is down this year. Why take something away from this win?

Not really. The coaches and teammates knew who to get the ball to. Take out the jealosy and play to your strengths and you can win. Great job by the entire Paintsville program.

The 6th region reps half of the Louisville teams. The 6th region was probably about the 5th or 6th best region in the state. Central was not one of the top 3 teams in the 6th region, but upsets do occur and Central did benefit from those upsets and greater parity. The 7th region had 5 top 20 teams. Don't think you can honestly sandwich the 7th region in with the 6th to call Louisville down this year.

Central never got it under double figures. Don't think O'boro and Moorman were too worried.
