No problem. It also gave some love to other Kentucky kids too: Jacob Jenkins, who told me he's staying at Manual High School for his senior season despite recent rumors, put on a show today. He had 28 points in an afternoon game and then netted 33 against the Chicago Express. He's playing for Team Kentucky. The older Derek Smith All-Star team - featuring Elliott County standouts Ethan and Evan Faulkner and Jonathan Ferguson - looked really good tonight in smashing one of the Southern California All-Star teams.

Team Kentucky had their success too being the only Kentucky team in the 17 under division to win their pool and advance to the Gold bracket before being defeated by one of the premiere programs in the event the Chicago Express. The state AAU tournament are more for fun than anything. There are no scouts, no college coaches, and very little media on hand for this event. So missing it, will not be important as say missing a major certified event where college coaches can attend in July.

Team Kentucky 17U could be good. Just won their pool in the Adidas May Classic and are in the top Gold Bracket.

Eastern has a great deal to replace. Other than Thomas, who will be players to start and contribute next year. Eastern is always a contender.

Chuck Jones is a 6'10 PF/C from 5th region Hopkins-Central.

For a 5'8" guard, Slone is as tough as you get. Just needs some talent around him. He was the team's only scoring threat last year and took the bulk of the shots. They will be improved this year.

It is a very good camp. Very instructional and the games are intense. Coach Winters does a great job of getting the talent there. Should be a good experience for Justice.

Amongst others. They will be tough. Curious to see it play out. Who is your team again westsider?

They will be preseason tops in Kentucky based on the talent collection and the hype. They will be tough to beat, but nonetheless they will be beatable by some Kentucky opponants. I would wait to see how they do against a legit top 10 Kentucky team before I pronounce this newly formed team top 10 in the country.

I will vouch for Sorrell. Great kid and great family. Most fundamental player I've seen and plays with heart. I'm proud to have him repping Kentucky in this year's game.

It truly is proof that politics control the votings. Johnson did make the team. It all comes down to getting scholarship offers for the next level. You have several players on the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd team Allstate that yet to find a suitor for college hoops. In the end, I hope all do so they can enjoy that free education.

You're right. And it looks like Jenkins and Phares will be taking the court once again with their respective AAU teams somehow drawing the same pool in the King James Classic in Akron. Phares will be playing for Derek Smith Allstars and Jenkins is joining Indiana Elite One for the first time this season.

Sorrel was said to be the most craftiest and fundamental player there. He was on for most of the tryouts and was hitting his shots. Yes, he had a good showing.

It's a little different now than the Allstate votings and playing regular season games in certain regions. The talent level is higher now and the comp is much more intense. There will be some names left off that some felt were locks to make the squad.

You should worry more about scholarships/offers than every ranking service. The top five players listed all have offers or have committed to mid and high major programs and it will be tough to argue against that and Euton is committed to one of the country's highest college traditions. Hopefully Kentucky gets a high number of kids to earn scholarships and to get a "free education", ranked or unranked.

As I stated before, Henderson does not possess the skills set to run the point. I also got word from a few folks who saw the try outs that Tyler Brown was indeed impressive.

I know I will have my opinion shredded here on a mountain messageboard, but if Slone is at the point for any extended period this game will be uglier than many predict anyways. Slone is not a legit point at this level of play. I watched Henderson play his soph, junior, last year on the AAU circuit, and I don't see him being an effective distributor and ballhandler to run the show agains Indy either. He's more of a finisher than anything.
