The other game Jenkins was able to hit 7 treys and tally 32 against a backcourt that consisted of a Texas A&M and a pair of Clemson commits. Jenkins will likely add a few more options from this weekend. The tourney is loaded with a ton of talented prospects as well as a big number college coaches. Coach Tom Crean of IU made an appreance at the event as well as coach Sean Miller of Xavier and coach Bob Huggins of WVU. Tomorrow should expect even more coaches to attend. Great event.

It was interesting to see the Shining Stars start the game with only five or six players. DS looked strong. A late entry, the Kentucky Gators fared well against two of the top teams in the event including nationally touted Seattle Select which features UL commit Peyton Siva and top 100 player Josh Smith. Against the Seattle Select team and in front of 50+ college coaches including coach Rick Pitino, the KY Gators led by 4 with 4 minutes to go before losing by 5. Jacob Jenkins finished with 24 point and hit 4 of 7 from long range. Seattle even had to utilize a box and 1 on Jenkins and stalled the last 2 minutes to hold on for the win. Jordan Hickman also added 23 or 24. In the earlier game against Carolina, Jenkins finished with 32 and was 7 of 10 from long range. More hoops to be played. I like the DS Allstars to do some damage in this one. Kentucky is representing.

This is a very accurate. However, my main point is that this year the top 5 will be much more fragile and all 5 could lose in the first week or two and other teams could have some big wins. Replacing the entire top 5 early would not come as a shock.

I think there are 10 or 15 teams, maybe more, that could pull off a state title this year. I think Elliott is definately one of those teams and should win against a top 25 team this year.

Good list, but I'm willing to bet every coach in the state would say that entire list could be replaced after one or two weeks of play at the start of the season. There are no locks.

Interesting. Eastern, Manual, Male, J'twon, and Ballard have all been mentioned top 20 and 3 or 4 of the teams mentioned top 10 and two of them mentioned as top 5 on messageboards and newspapers. Sounds like a possible toughest region in the state label.

The 7th will have JTown, Manual, Male, Ballard, Seneca, Eastern, all who are capable of beating the top team in the 11th. The tide may have turned as to whose on top. We agree that the 7 and 11 are tops, just not on the order.

Manual, Male, and Eastern can all win over those you listed just as well. I guess we are saying the 7th region is the best region in the state this year.

In the KOB, Euton went for 8 points against Manual in Rose Hill's 30 point loss. Jenkins, who was checked by Euton, went for 18 points in less than 2 quarters. Manual called the starters off after 17 minutes of play. Jackson played nearly the entire game and finished with 22 or 24. They had no one else to bring the ball up the court, Jackson was a necessity. Euton will get better. He works too hard not to improve.

Word I have is Mason County lost by 10 to Jeffersontown.

I made the post and yes, Greg is an outstanding player and North Hardin will be a tough tough team to beat next year statewide. Coach Bevars and his staff will have them ready to go and I really believe they will make a ton of noise during the season coming up.

Good point. Summer ball has teams missing players or are using the games to develop new talent that will be used in the coming year's rotation. That is why I discount GRC's loss to Doss.

Lex Cath has strong guard play in Sanford and Botkins. Sanford is talented and Botkins always takes care of the ball and should be more of a scoring option this year. They will have some height in the middle too.

Keep counting out Manual and Lex Catholic. A C-J post stated that Lex Cath and Manual will both be teams seen in the top 5 preseason rankings.

Kentucky winning this year helps bring back some flavor and could restore the "rivalry". Next year there will be a Louisville player. Indiana will have a few big name signees in their class such as Van Treese and Byrd.

Darius did not shoot well, but he pulled 9 boards had 5 or 6 assists and played solid D. He'll do all the things necessary at UK to help them win.
