Glad to hear Austin is doing very well and had a great season. I look forward to seeing him play at the D1 level somewhere next year.

There will still be plenty of room to sit pretty much wherever. I doubt there's 6,000 people that are there for both games tomorrow afternoon. Now Tuesday, I fully expect to see 6,000+ people there.

I'd expect to see NCC zone, but not much. They got killed on the offensive glass and Holmes shot pretty well from the outside in the first meeting when NCC sat in a 1-3-1 and 2-3 zone.

What's the word on Phares? SC seems to be very vulnerable without him and he would be a big loss. I hope it's nothing too serious.

I'm surprised Lafayette is keeping it this close...they don't have much size at all.

I heard Grote has a stomach virus or something to that nature? I know Smith Keller didn't play last game either. Grote sat on the bench with a bucket next to him for the majority of the game.

Scott Co. will come back...they've been in situations like this several times this year but always seem to find a way to pull it out. Hope the injury to Phares isn't too serious. He is what makes their team go. Without him in the lineup, they are very vulnerable.

With Boone's schedule, they finished the season right around where everyone expected them to finish. Their only "signature win" came against Holmes. Now let's take a look at Coach Henley's resume: -Led his team to 2nd most top 25 wins in the state -In a rematch with Bryan Station, there was a 32 point swing...Holmes lost by 14 the first game, didn't press in the second game and made BS beat them with halfcourt sets, and Holmes blew them off their home floor by 18 (again good coaching by switching the strategy) -Only KY coach that can say his team beat Scott Co -Has taken his team from 6 deep to 8 deep by developing both sophomores Arnold and Mayfield, to the point where they can both now contribute in big games. -Has led his team to back to back 30 win seasons, despite losing SEVEN seniors and his best player from last year. (BTW, Boone only lost one player from last year's team) I think it was pretty much a no brainer as to why Coach Henley was selected by his peers as COY.

The nky COACHES voted Coach Henley as the Coach of the year. Tough to argue against a coach who has led his team to a 30-2 record to date (best in the state, I believe). At the beginning of the year everyone knew Holmes was going to be good but honestly nobody expected them to only have 2 losses at this point in the season. Everyone expected them to have around 4 or 5 heading in to the post season. (Two losses in tourneys/classics, Scott Co, and 1 or 2 road losses in nky late in the season) Again, both the POY and COY were well deserved.

I agree...teams like Holmes, Scott Co, Lexcath, Mason Co, etc. get teams best shots night in and night out because they traditionally are state powers year in and year out. Every few years you'll get teams like Shelby Valley and Elliott Co who become state powers for a year or two, but overall it's the big boys of the 7th, 11th, 9th, and 10th that get everyone's best shot night in and night out. Everyone wants to play "spoiler" to that teams' successful season.

Highlands beat Boone by 14....that's probably why Boone needs to play better. Again, with NKY teams being so inconsistent, outside of Holmes and possibly Boone, it's tough to use common opponents as a gauge to how a game will go. It's all about the match ups.

I agree. It somewhat worries me that Holmes might overlook NCC some because they handled them easily in the first match up, but then again, after the close game with Ryle, I think they've gotten the wake up call that they gotta start taking it one game at a time or they'll be going home early. I think the easy wins over Holy Cross and Beechwood may have gotten their heads a little big. Here's to hoping the Dogs put it all together against NCC and go in to the region championship on a high note. Either way, it's going to be a tough game whether they get Highlands or Boone.
