I personally could care less. I really like Ferg. The kid's range is unlimited. I was just wondering if he and the Faulkners had been held back or not because I had heard they were and wanted to find out if there was any truth to it. Actually, I've heard Elliott's whole starting 5 was all held back...Ferg, Faulkners, and both Knipp brothers, along with the Morgan kid as well.

Because he had already been mentioned by several on here. Terry had a good tournament both his 7th and 8th grade year, with both he and Whetsel being the top 2 scorers in the majority of their games, along side the Gregg kid.

Nice story. Question for the EC faithful: It says that they are both seniors but his sister is a year younger...Was Jonathon held back? I've heard he and the Faulkners were all three held back. Any truth to this?

Thelen is solid around the rim but needs to improve his ball handling tremendously and add a mid range game to his arsenal. If he can improve in those two areas, I agree he'll be tough over the next two years.

I've actually seen Whetsel play several times, with the first time being in the 7th grade state tournament when he was playing with Rose Hill and led them to the state title over Georgetown. I saw him again over the summer with the Northeast KY Royals. I believe Mike Terry played with them as well.

I saw the majority of the kids that I mentioned when I went to the state AAU tournament in late April.

Beckham and Ivey are both listed at 6'1. Having stood next to them though, I'd say both are in the 5'11-6'0 range.

Never said it was my list. These are just some of the names that are mentioned by both "Tate" Johnson and Fields of the CJ. Having seen all of the above that I mentioned though, either on the AAU circuit or in summer HS leagues, I feel the list I compiled would have been the same regardless of whether those two made a list or not.

The BOKC is very similar to an NBA arena...just smaller.

I agree. I see that being his only weakness right now. If he can develop a better outside shot he'll be tough to stop.

He is very aggressive and looks to make scoring plays from the wing and by running the floor in transition. This lefty is an excellent slasher especially with his strong hand. He can spilt defenders and elevate over taller opponents in the lane. He does a great job of drawing fouls as well. He is very confident and plays with swagger. Arnold does a good job of hitting the offensive glass. He keeps the ball alive with his long arms and is good for a least one tip in. I agree. If we're talking about the best freshmen in the STATE, Pike shouldn't even be mentioned in this conversation. No disrespect to him, but when you compare him to the elite freshmen in the state (Manning, Beckham, Ivey, Harrison), it's not even close. He'll be better at football than basketball.

In the first meeting between these two, it was Ryle who couldn't keep their composure...FWIW.

If I had to guess: 6'0 Pohlgeers v 6'0 Brown 6'2 Beuttel v 6'0 Gabbard 6'3 Romes v 6'3 Cotton 6'3 Snyder v 6'5 Mcfarland 6'7 Smith v 6'6 Earls I'd have Romes on their most athletic player, Cotton, and let Snyder just be aggressive with Mcfarland. Mcfarland isn't the type of player that likes physical play. Watson of Highlands was very physical with him and took him out of his game real quick.

Bolded are the starters (Lother and Gordon have rotated starting at the point this year). It will be tough for St. H to keep Grubbs and Watson off the boards. Both are very physical around the rim and more than held their own against Holmes when they played.

If all three make the All State team, I'd guess it'd look something like this: Ferg- 1st team Et. Faulkner- 2nd team Ev. Faulkner- 3rd team As far as the All Star team having all 3, that's probably doubtful. I know Holmes had 2 make the KY All Star team in 07 with Greg Rice and Austin Hill, but I can't remember more than 2 making it any time recently.

Step one to the "3-peat" and getting back to Rupp begins with the Raiders. Holmes defense will be the difference in this one as they seem to have really turned it up a notch lately and Ryle isn't exactly an offensive juggernaut. I see the Raiders keeping it close in the first half, but by mid third quarter being worn down from Holmes press. Holmes 58 Ryle 41
