Actually both Boone and Holmes are currently 15-1 in the region and Holmes is 30-2 while Boone is 25-4. Both have had great seasons, but I wouldn't say one has had a better season in region than the other considering Boone lost to Highlands (a team Holmes beat) and Holmes lost to Boone. Overall, there's no way Boone has had a better season considering the amount of top 25 wins Holmes has and they are still the only team in KY to beat the team from Georgetown.

Fair enough. It could honestly be considered either IMO though. His shot off the backboard was so far to the side of the rim it made it look like a pass.

No way that was a good hard foul...he clearly undercut him while he was in the air. The pictures even show it. I could understand had he attempted to go for the ball, but it was all body as Pittman was about to throw it down.

Watch the ICN 6 Scoreboard at 11:24. I just saw the replay of it and I think it may not have been an over exaggeration. JJ clearly threw the ball one handed off the side of the square and Pittman threw it down with two hands.

I already stated that in a post on page one..... Ryle isn't the type of team that tries to get out and run. They are very patient on offense and play tough defense. Very rarely is there a game between them and an opponent in the 60's. Ryle has scored more than 60 points 6 times this year and in the 30's 5 times this year. Their opponents have scored more than 60 points just 4 times.

Nice work Panda. BTW, what was up with Lamping blatantly undercutting Pittman when he went up for the first dunk on the break away? He was lucky he didn't get called for the intentional foul.

Sunday at the BOK Center...4:00. Holmes comes in 30-2 after beating Ryle 41-34. Newcath comes in 18-10 after beating Dixie 43-41. Holmes beat Newcath 3 weeks ago 56-44 at Holmes. Thoughts?

I agree...just a few days ago after Holmes ran Holy Cross and Beechwood off the floor by 20 everyone was talking about how well they were playing...and now all of a sudden they aren't playing well? :idunno: I agree. They need to step it up on the offensive end a little more, as they made some "bonehead" mistakes tonight by settling for jumpers when they had the lead, rather than being aggressive but one thing has been constant with Holmes over the last few weeks, and that's defense. Ryle didn't exactly try to run the scoreboard up...they were very patient offensively which is going to lead to low scoring games. Offense sells tickets, defense wins championships. I'm sure Coach Henley and his staff are pleased with the defensive effort tonight.

I agree 100%. Holmes has to continue to pound the ball inside to him though. They've been most effective with him down on the blocks and the offense running through him.

Ryle made their run when Holmes started settling for jumpers, rather than taking it to the rim and being aggressive, like they did early. Outside of DJ hitting two 3's to put Holmes up 14-2 early on, Holmes didn't shoot the ball very well. They were 6-20 (30%) from the field in the first half. They should have continued taking it to the rim and utilized their athleticism. For Ryle, Mcleish played a great game tonight, offensively. He hit several big shots to get Ryle back in the game.

I agree...but you have to credit Pittman for the way he stepped up in the third quarter after Ryle took the lead. From Ryan Ernst blog: "Holmes coach David Henley has always said that if/when Elijah Pittman figures out that he has to play hard all the time, he's going to be really, really good. Well, he figured it out midway throught the third quarter. He had a personal 7-0 run -- three free throws, a layup and a two-hand follow dunk -- that put Holmes in control. Tough to go with those numbers though because every team doesn't submit their stats to the KHSAA. I know neither Scott Co or Holmes have, as well as a lot of other teams around the state.

It will probably be Baylor. He wanted UC or WV but it looks more and more like the Big 12. He has turned into a very nice two guard.[ Not bad for a 6'4 center in high school.]

Greg finished the regular season on the 28th. His team is currently ranked number #1 in D-2 JUCO. For the season he averaged 19.7 ppg, 5.7 rpg, 3.8 apg, 2.2 spg. He shot 57.1 from the floor, and 44.6 from three. He is also up for player of the year in his division. I will update and post if he wins the player of the year. Most likely he will.
