I don't see Holmes having any problem matching up with Boone either but the problem with Rico guarding the point is it leaves a void inside, unless Rice is in.

That's not a bad idea but who then does D. Johnson or Housely guard? I'm not too sure either can guard Cotton. That would also put JJ on Mcfarland. The only way Rico guarding the point would work is if you have Rice in there and either D. Johnson/Housely on the bench.

:confused: Did you not see the numbers that Mustang provided? The 10th saw more fans this year in the opening round than either last year at Montgomery or the year before at Mason Co...which according to some fans is the most fair and central place to host the 10th.

I'm pretty excited about watching both, but I think the 9th will provide more excitement as we'll see two top 10 teams in the state go at it.

I agree. That's one thing that will be missing in this years' tournament. In years past when it was held at Ryle, Holmes, or Conner, they always allowed the students, parents, and fans on the floor after the game to celebrate with the team.

Boone beat Holmes in the first game by running a good half court offense. They killed them with back door screen/cuts and the "pick and roll" with Mcfarland and Gabbard. If the pass wasn't there, Gabbard was able to get in the lane for easy buckets. Having Pittman healthy in this one will be key for Holmes. I see him being the x-factor in this one which will make Rico's job much easier and allow him to take over when the time comes to turn it up.

I think the Cards pull it out in a close one setting up a 10th region final of Mason Co and GRC. GRC 67 Scott 59 Looking forward to seeing the 10th region final tomorrow before the 9th region final.

Thanks for the numbers...I was curious as to how many people attended the first round games for the 10th. Roughly 2700 isn't bad for first round games. Do you have the numbers for the 9th by any chance? Agree though that tonight and tomorrow are going to have even bigger crowds. Tuesday should be a great experience for the kids. Outside of the crowd that Holmes and Mason Co played in front of last year in the state championship, this is probably going to be the biggest crowd that some of these young men have ever played in front of.

For those wanting more atmosphere, I can guarantee you that won't be the case Tuesday night. I said it earlier and I'll say it again; Tuesday night will draw the biggest crowd both the 9th and 10th region has ever seen for a region championship game. I fully expect there to be every bit of 6-7K there, and IF Scott upsets GRC tonight, we very well could see close to a sell out.

I agree..Boone will no doubt try and make this a half court game, just like they did in the first game. They tried running with Holmes last year and got beat by 20...Coach McQ obviously learned his lesson. Boone plays a pretty solid half court defense though, so the key for Holmes will be to take care of the ball and capitalize on every possession. If Boone gets a lead they'll no doubt start running a lot of time off the clock with their offensive possessions like Newcath did yesterday. I guarantee Coach McQ wants to keep the ball out of Holmes' studs hands as much as possible.

That's why I was saying to get there early. So you are assured a seat where you want to sit. If you get there early enough you can tell them where you want to sit and get the seats with no problem. I arrived to the Highlands/Boone game today around 2:30 and was still able to get 3 tickets at midcourt (section 111/112) about 8 rows up with no problem.

I too noticed it several times from Coach Schlarman and I was sitting in the same area as Original Rook...only a few rows down.
