  1. That is true. The only difference is people compare the dogs to lap dogs they have and roosters to KFC.
  2. I see 7-5 with a win over UL and a loss to Mississippi St. I would love to see them beat the devil at South Carolina. GO CATS!!!
  3. My family is also in eastern KY, and I now livein in central KY. Chicken fighting is not an acitivity that should be trashed or looked down on, I personally don't like it, but I don't like soccer either, so I just turn the channel or don't go to the games. The biggest chicken fight outfits are in central KY. It's a KY thing, not really just a mountain thing.
  4. Carmel, 28-21. newton had cramps pretty bad, but he sucked it up and led his team to the W. I hope it's a sign of things to come. I can't wait to see him in Commonwealth!!!
  5. Vick got a raw deal. Pacman is responsible for a young man being in a wheel chair, and Lord knows what Henry has done. Vick fought and bet on a few dogs that were bred to fight. These dogs were not anybody's house pets, they are bread to fight. The PETA radicals don't seem to realize this, as they don't realize alot. Vick should be made fun of and lose a lot of his endorsement deals, but he should not be suspended or in prison.
  6. Chicken fighting is not just and Eastern Kentucky thing, it's in at least Central Kentucky.
  7. I obviously forget to list Coach Schiano on my list, I own his DVD from the Nike clinic Probably the best coaching the game in both areas. Rutgers was teriible at footbal for like 100 years, and now he has them doing great. I really thougt he would take the Miami job, I wish he had.
  8. I would have to think of the criteria for best coach. Is it the best recruiter or the best at coaching the game. As far as a coaching the game, I would say: Rich Brooks, Kansas' coach, Paul Johnson, Urban Meyer, and the coach at Wake Forest. Best at recruiting is obviously Pete Carroll, then in no particular order: Meyer, Les Miles, Stoops, and Mack Brown. Spurrier coukld be list in either of these groups, but I am a UK fan and can't do that since I simply refer to Spurrier as Satan.
  9. Paterno and Bowden are both well past the age that they should have retired. If they want to still coach, they should retire and go coach there grandkids, or great grands, in little league or something.
  10. Newton looked really good on the first drive. He has a rocket arm and can run.
  11. Everyone is aware that all K-State's good players went to the NBA? I would love to pay $30 or so to see them Delaware St., they should at least play EKU or Morehead if there going to have a schedule like this.
  12. If my Buc's give up a first round pick for Favre, Everyone from Culverhouse to Gruden to the youngest ball boy should be fired.
  13. I agree, we need a trade nad let some of the young kids play. Freel is of no value to us.
  14. Any thoughts on the Buc's? I think we need a QB, and we need to sign Derek Anderson from the Browns. Simms just doesn't seem to be the man, Garcia is great, but he'll be 40 soon.
  15. The Lexington Horsemen play in the spring/summer on saturday nights. It's kind of like playing football in the living room when you were little or PE class. I can see how a lot of people would like it, however. It's just not my thing, I guess I just like the smell of grass, getting cold, and being rained on.
  16. Other than maybe Jenkins, I have never known any of these teams to have difficulty fielding a team. Go see Bellevue play football, in the past. they have often, well more often that most, beaten Beechwood. Please look at some actual facts before saying some things.
  17. I would be interested in seeing what the coaches at St. X and Trinity make, and what their duties are. We also need to be aware "other duties" could mean many other things than teaching in a classroom. In a Herald Leader article a few years ago, it was reported that Coach Columbia at Clark County was the highest paid coach, however, it included his salary as an assistant principal. So coaches "other duties" can be things that are very important and would pay well even if they weren't coaching.
  18. I'm pretty sure there 2A. Coach Harriss was there coach? They did okay last year to just be getting starting, I don't know why he'd leave.
  19. It won't be Cronin, he's got it way too good where he's at.
  20. Thank you HDE. Evarts and Cumberland had to deal with Corbin and Middlesboro every year. This also shows how much population this county had lost during this time. That's what happens when a state turns it's back on a region, but I won't get into that. The point is, add Lynch to it, and things change drastically.
  21. It is on page 4, listed under Harlan County Coach. Last post 2-4.
  22. This sounds like a good deal to me. I would rather see Jones go than Barber, because I am a Barber and Cowboys fan, but that deal probably wouldn't go. McFadden seems to be the real deal, and youth at RB is usually not a bad thing.
  23. There is another thread similiar to this. I mentioned Coach Nolan (Coach at Cawood) and someone said they heard he would be at Harlan Independent next year. Check out that other forum.
