I think that as a team Montgomery Co did not look like they were in any kinda physical shape in this game. The only player on the floor for them that looked good was Destiney Taul.

Montgomery won 72-52, as they scored 28 points as a team in the 4th qtr.

Trust me! Read lexkyfan other posts on any Montgomery Co sports and they are always the best team. I dont care if its softball, basketball or marbles. It is ironic though that get a "new" point guard whenever there is a need for one. This Rogers kid might be good in the future, but she in no shape or form be able to handle the pressure of a good point guard guarding her like another Rogers girl due west 15 miles who might be the best guard in the 10th Region.

Knott Co Central will hold a press conference today (3-10-10) at 2:30pm to announce their new head football coach. The word is that it will be former KCC and Somerset coach Jay Cobb returning to coach his former team.

It was, but I am sure now that GRC would now taken a loss w/o him then, and being able to go to the Sweet 16 now, if it would have worked out that way.

In hindsight, the game could have been played, as the weather was not that bad, and maybe, and I mean maybe, GRC would have benefited from playing that game instead of cancelling. Just my opinion!

I agree with what others have said to this, as you play the hand you are dealt. Where would Montgomery Co had been this year w/o Jenni Lausti playing point guard? Could they still have gotten as far as they did even with Garland playing and not w/o getting Lausti at the point thru the foeign exchange program?

You have approximately 200 girls in the 10th region, and you think that Montgomery Co has 5 girls that deserve being mentioned in the top girls in the region. Explain yourself? Montgomery Co is a very good team and might very well win the region, but justify with stats that any girls beside Jehlik and Spence deserve being on the 10th region team.

If in fact she was in that late in the game, then it might bite them in the behind tomorrow night, as I would guess that GRC will puts lots of pressure with their press on Scott. With that being said, Tibbs is a Division 1 player for sure.

I agree that Spence could have made at least made 2nd team over a couple of other girls less deserving, but who would you be referring to on Montgomery Co besides Jehlik and Spence worthy of being on the 1st or 2nd team all-region?

I don't see Mont Co having a real easy road either, as they first play Bishop Brossart who just beat a good Campbell Co and Scott High team, then they most likely will play Bracken Co, who easily could have beaten Mason Co in their regional final. Should be an excellent tourney, especially the potential semifinals on Wednesday when possibly you might have a Mont Co vs. Bracken Co, and then GRC vs. Mason Co.

In reading the Winchester Sun, it was stated that GRC had four girls foul out and that Franklin Co shot 45 free throws and GRC shot 15. Don't know what to make of that unless GRC was just to aggressive with their press.

From what I understand, with Franklin Co. calling off school today, they must have a rule - no school - no ball. Well GRC Boys and Girls Coaches scrambled to find games tonight and GRC Boys picked up a game with Madison Southern. Then, Franklin Co. Schools Superintendent, agreed for the double header to go on, but because GRC Boys had already pick up another game, it could not be played. Hence, Girls game only.

One of the Payne sisters was out for the game. I hope the other sister comes back soon, as without her they were lacking in depth. Also, GRC was without starter Kayla Jones tonight.

GRC is not the same team that lost to Catholic, as they have won something like nine of their last twelve games, which includes a hard fault loss at Madison Central recently and they beat a really good Anderson Co team last week to give Anderson Co their first home loss this year. Also, they have Jewell Rogers back who is only going to get better with more playing time.
