I think Elliott Co. could win the title despite having just 6 guys that play. Their big 3 have superb conditioning and the team plays with lots of heart.

Hazard should be in the discussion of the top 5. All A finalists, a third quarter collapse away from being sweet 16 semifinalists, and a team that returns all 5 starters and 8 of their top 9 players. They have a very intelligent PG that makes them go and multiple athletes in Cambell, Jones, etc.

While we a lot of us continue to disagree over whether Euton should be eligible can we at least conclude that Chad Jackson should be ineligible?

I think they did move to Georgetown.

If the KHSAA doesn't make the rules then why are people blaming them for enforcing them correctly?

Sometimes the it is better to say nothing than to say something even if it is the truth. Here are a few examples: Your boss asks you "Do I look stupid to you?" Your girlfriend asks you "Does this dress make me look fat?" My point is we should often use discretion as to what we say. A simple no comment from Clay Euton may have got the job done.

Now they can argue until they are blue in the face that the rule is a stupid and terrible rule. But that will do them no good because the rule is still there.

I think people are going too far when they say the KHSAA is taking away the rights and freedoms of individuals. I mean look at Derrick Jasper, does he have the right to play at UNLV next year? No! Of course not no one is complaining about that because the rule is you have to sit out a year before you can play. Jackson/Euton will still be able to play their senior year they just had to sit out this year because they moved (atleast partly) to obtain an athletic advantage (by their own admission). The basic premise of the rule is so people can't just all decide to go play with their buddies anywhere they want. I mean Scott County already is a huge county with only one school system that has already been rewarded in the past with numerous transfers not to mention they get all kinds of sponsorship from Toyota. I don't think feel too bad for Scott County.

What is it with former Rose Hill basketball players and controversy. Walker was living with Mayo, Jackson with Euton. Walker/Mayo played for 5 teams in like 6 years if you count college and NBA (Huntington, Ashland, Cincy, Huntington, LA/Manhatton, NBA. Wild!

I wonder if the bylaw means #1 You can't simply leave a school and transfer to another one because of athletics, but if you have a legit reason for leaving you are free to go anywhere you want even if you go based partly on athletics OR #2 Even if you have a legit reason for leaving a school (like job loss) you can't pick your new school based on athletics. IF it is #1 then he should be eligible if it is #2 then he is in trouble.

One game doesn't disprove a rule! Look at the NBA playoffs, there is homecourt advantage. If you don't care about the NBA or for some reason think it shouldn't count then go look at the home and away records for teams in the 10th region during the 2007-2008 season. Teams clearly had better records at home. Of course some years a team is just better on that night or they are just a better team on any night and it doesn't matter where the game is played. However, it never hurts to play at home and that is why 15 of the 16 regions (all except the 8th) have some sort of rotation and/or neutral court sites.

Can a manger change their mind before the game? What happens if they do.

When will the managers name a starter? Who has to turn in their lineup first or do they have to be turned in at the same time?

I have limited knowledge on the subject but I do know that most of Hazard's guys play football and they are likely to go deep into the football playoffs this year. Michael Campbell is a star football player. Keshawn Simpson was a star on Madison Central's football team before an injury cost him his basketball season. He may be playing football and basketball next season for the Indians. Finally, some local info has Montgomery County Nic Hendrix deciding to focus on basketball and sit out football this year. However, I have heard that Ty Coombs and Cody Curtis may be playing both sports this seaon. I will know more when the KY Football yearbook comes out in July from the Cats Pause. Football can sure have an impact if you can remember a few years ago when Apollo destroyed Warren Central early in the year only to be embarrased by about 40 points by the Dragons at Rupp in March.

Shelby played 8 guys last year: 4 seniors and 4 sophomores. They should be pretty good this year but they must replace their best player Minnis, who was a beast on the inside. I think their other big guy, Beach, is back and they also return one their two pg's. I know they lost Matthews who was one of the top QB's in the state last year. It should be a battle between Shelby, Anderson Co. (C.J. Penny) and possibly others to get out of the 8th.
