I believe in Round 3, Districts 5-8 are thrown together and the highest remaining RPI host the lowest remaining RPI and second highest remaining hosts the second lowest. Last year it happened to be District 5 vs. 6 and 7 vs. 8 in quarterfinals, but CovCath could have played Boyle or Corbin if the RPI played out that way. JC upsetting Ashland in the regular season last year allowed CovCath to avoid Boyle and Corbin in the quarterfinals.

Beechies will be fine. The next game that they will be pushed is the state semifinals? Plenty of time to shore up the defense.

Lots of things for the Colonels to clean up. The KO philosophy needs to be rethought. Is it 19 of the last 23 that CovCath has won in the series now?

I don't disagree, although don't most kids hold back in 8th grade? And in the case of the Covid year stuff, the difference is the players got to spend an extra year in high school instead of grade school (or extra 1/2 year as the case may have been).

Small nit, someone will need to walk me through the extra point thinking by both teams. I figured CovCath would get a strong effort from Dixie and they did. A young CovCath team still finding an identity, but I liked the effort. On to the Beechies.
