I agree with everything you say above. Lack of exposure on the AAU circuit is the biggest reason for him being omitted IMO. But, he is also not a no brainer Top 25.

It was obviously an awful. I just saw a couple of minutes late and didn't pay attention to the competition. I think they would fare well against 2013 competition, as long as they held their own on the glass. I haven't seen the Lyles kid as he took a break and didn't play in the Adidas Invitational, but from what I have heard he is very, very good and 6-8 so he would be a mismatch for the Magic. Those two teams would make a heck of a game.

Indiana's best 2014 players -- Trey Lyles, James Blackmon, Trevon Blueitt, Jajuan Lyle and some more -- all play for Spiece Indy Heat. They typically play up in 16U and did so in the Adidas Invitational. I think the Louisville Magic should do the same. No point in beating a team 133-21 while still pressing late in the game today.

Timmons goes to Franklin County. I haven't seen him on the AAU circuit and I believe that goes into it because Demling can only see so many kids. Having said that, Timmons is very good, but isn't a no brainer Top 25. If he has improved his jump shot, then I will change my mind and say he is Top 15, maybe higher. But, please don't miscontrue my comments, he is a heck of a player and I can think of another 10-15 kids in the class that could make a case for getting ranked. Of course, from what I understand, basketball is not even his future sport. Didn't Demling rank him pretty high in his football rankings?

Trisko is probably 6-4 / 6-5 but more of a 4, while Chambers is about 6-2 / 6-3. Cornett is a huge loss, especially defensively and rebounding. While he is a good scorer as well, the Elite has plenty of others who can score. When Cornett hasn't been there this summer rebounding has been the issue. Having said that, Trisko and Chambers are newer additions and will help.

Unfortunately Cornett broke his foot Sunday and is out for a while. Best wishes on a speedy recovery.

Hicks played with TN Travelers in Nike EYBL events and was with The Ville 2013 at state AAU. Hicks led The Ville past Bullitt East's Derek Willis and the BA Hoyas in the state finals.

Great kid. Very disappointed when I heard about this. Would love to see him make it back late in the season, but more importantly, hope it doesn't keep college coaches from offering him a scholarship.

I know Scott County won Varsity, JV and Freshman. Lincoln County beat Scott County in a pool game, although I believe Scott County didn't play their normal starters the first half (I got there a little late so didn't see the beginning, but that's what I was told). Having said that, it was a one-point game at half and Lincoln pulled it out in the end. I was impressed with the way Lincoln spread the floor and moved the ball to get open looks.

I was actually surprised to see KY Select play up, because I, too, would have loved to see the two teams matchup. I would say this Magic group played 15U because they already had a 16U team. KY Select proved they are very capable at any age group. Having said that, I think KY Select would be the favorite because of their time together and how well they play together. The Magic win on paper with the amount of talent they have, but the chemistry of the Select would probably prevail.

It's a kid from Louisville Moore I believe. Makale McCoy I think is his name. They won state last year as 16s.

Marcellius Washington now plays for Bryan Staton. He is playing for PAL. IMO he has not matched his in game performance to his ball handling skills. Still don't think he has figured out the right way to play the game. Once he does he has the talent to really improve. I hope it happens for him.

In another thread, it said Higher Level had a senior to be team and an unsigned senior team. Obviously, it's their senior to be team that is entered in this weekend's AAU event.

I thought that might be them. Those kids are certainly very capable.

Actually don't see them listed. Real surprised as they would have been overwhelming favorites in 15u.

I beg to differ, there is no such thing as Lexington Catholic Middle School. If you know there is one please give me the address, I have been trying to find it for years!

I believe it was Scott Mendanhall that played at Transy. I do find it funny that the entire district (with the exception of Tates Creek) is filled with LexCath disciples now. Won't be hard to prepare for these teams. Of course, that is assuming Mendenhall brings that system with him and I know nothing about him so I have no idea whether he will or not.

When two of the four candidates have zero head coaching experience and they do not re open the application process, I would say it is a concern for the future of Fayette Co athletic programs. In this particular case, the Lafayette position. The whole process has been bizarre to say the least. Wish the new coach, whomever it might be, the best of luck...he will need it.

I had heard he didn't even get an interview. I could have gotten bad information.

Surely, the home run wasn't A.W. Hamilton, who was announced at Hargrave. Sure he's a good coach, but without any head coaching experience he certainly couldn't be classiied as a home run.

Four interviewees....from what I've heard...Mendenhall, Stone, Ligon, someone from Eastern Ky. How can Lafayette interview two guys with no Head Coaching experience? Just give Ligon the keys and move on. Best of luck
