  2. Just got got off the phone and I was told by a member of the coaching staff that the game is going to be played. Hazard did cancel Leslie, Buckhorn, Cumberland, and Jenkins to meet the game limit.
  3. Your right Top, maybe at least he could have got player of the game.
  4. I felt Jones and Lewis from Hazard should have made the All tournament team. Jones keep GC in the Hazard game with his play in the second half. Hazard dosen't beat RH without his second half scoring of 19 pts.
  5. The 54th also has a blind draw. Hazard and PPC vote to seed, but Buckhorn and Leslie vote to have a blind draw. I assume it must take 3 teams in a 4 team district to vote for seeding. I can't really blame Buckhorn and Leslie for wanting to blind draw, most seasons they are the 3rd and 4th best team in the district and they know if Hazard and PCC draw each other, which they always seem to do, they are going to the region. I would think that most years the rest of the region likes this as well seeing how one of the best teams in the region is sent home after the 1st round of the district.

  7. two threads, maybe mods can join them GC is a solid team, they were just overmatched in the post. GC took control of the game in the 2q with their zone D. In the 2nd half they played man to man which allowed Hazard to pound the ball down low. That allowed Hazard to get easy buckets and get back and set up their man to man D. GC got most of their points in transition, lead by #13. That young man is a player, fun to watch.
  8. Hard fought win for Hazard. GC is a solid ballclub. # 13 Jones was the best player on the court in the 4q. Bad calls went both ways. GC played a zone in the 2q that Hazard had trouble with. I could be wrong, but GC seemed to play more man to man than zone in the second half. Hazard was able to get the ball down low in the second half against the man to man, that was difference in the game.

  10. Notes from the game: -Tate was dressed, but he moved with a noticeable limp and really did not participate in pre game warm ups other than just walk through the layup up line. -Seth Hall, # 23 for JBS, played a very solid game for them. His defense on Whitaker and some timely 3 pointers helped to keep JBS in the game.\ -Jones and Warren were the differnece on the inside for Hazard. Warren will only get better as he has only played 6 games. -No all tournament team or MVP, so I will give mine. Warren - Hazard - MVP Whitaker - Hazard Clark Stepp - JBS Gay - Buckhorn Charles - Lee

  12. Is Cox playing? If so I think it will be hard for The Horn to beat JBS due to the Blank injury. If Cox is out, JBS is still the favorite but Buckhorn will give them all they want and could pull off the upset.
  13. You are correct. WYMT only ranks teams from the 12th - 15th that are in their viewing area. I am sure Elliott would be in the top 10 if they were eligible for that poll.

  17. Coach Whitaker was fired/let go/resigned from Bell Co. He was looking for a job, Hazard was very fortunate to have an opening. The Warren kid, who is their legally adopted son, had been living with the Whitakers in Bell Co. When they made the decision to come to Hazard Warren came with the family. I do not know of any other players having eligibility issues.

  21. Big loss for the community of Hyden. More than just a gym, it was the communiity recreation center. Hope no one was hurt. Maybe Tim can step up and help Hyden replace what was lost. I think the 54th district is at Leslie this year. If so, anyone have any idea where the district would take place? Could Leslie host in another gym? Could they skip Leslie as a host this year?
