After reading/hearing about the fiasco in Columbus, OH and the girls basketball state tournament, what is people's opinion of Instant Replay in KY? Would it be accepted/welcomed in the Sweet Sixteen or not?

It isn't one and done in the regular. Good teams step up when the stakes are high. They know how to raise their game up. History speaks for itself..... (Now they may lose tonight and my theory stinks, but....)

They lost to Conner: 1/3/2008 L 53-43 However, this game actually means something. NDA is to NKY, like MND is to SW Ohio....This is post-season and they play for real!

I understand that with the NKAC taking up a big chunk of scheduling. I still would think if I was coaching at some of those smaller schools, I would rather schedule a more competitive game across the river than a Conner, Boone County, Holmes, and so forth.... With the way that the Greater Cincinnati area dominate the Ohio State tournaments, you would think that there would be more interstate rivalry's and competitions. I know Football does and it is a big success for all of them....

NKAC DIII coach of the year right? Seems like his game plan worked well against them, because he did make adjustments from the first game that BC crushed them. I am not sure if NDA can totally replicate that due to lack of size....

Do these two teams/programs have any storylines that would make one team have an extra motivation against the other one?

I don't mean playing Mt. Notre Dame or Lakota West. Just teams around the 275 loop. Dayton, Newport, Bellevue, Lloyd, and the smaller schools would be competitive with Deer Park, Norword, St. Bernard, and Finneytown. They would be close and competitve. Some of the bigger schools in KY could play Madeira (DIII), Reading (DIII), Mariemont (DIII), Seven Hills (DIV), Milford (DI), Turpin (DII), Amelia (DI), Northwest (DI), McNicholas (DII), Purcell Marian (DIII), Seton (DI), McAuley (DI) and Indian Hill (DII). All of those are competitve teams and games. And as far as all the schools in Ohio being bigger, that isn't the case. Oak Hills has 3000 students in their high school. But most are between 400-1300. Same as the NKY schools.....

This subject is probably Taboo, but I will throw it out there anyway..... with Mount Notre Dame and Lakota West advancing to the Ohio DI state championship game for tomorrow, it got me wondering the major difference between SW Ohio girls basketball and NKY girls basketball. And there are so many schools that are within or around the Interstate 275 loop. I know Ryle, Boone County, and Notre Dame played some crossover games, but why doesn't it happen more? It is amazing how an area so close is so different. Why is it so different? Why don't some of the good NKY teams play the good Ohio teams to get better instead of scheduling games that are going to be 30 point blowouts that gain them nothing? Just curious......I am a Buckeye turning Wildcat just curious that is all.....

This is a tough call. But we learned with Conner/Highlands that you can't really go based on the Regular Season! This is March Madness however...... Having said that, this is a lot like in Ohio, the good Catholic school teams are tough to beat this time of year. NDA by 5 or less.....

Winning the random draw and avoiding best two teams in District... Getting drilled and becoming District Runner up... Advancing to Regionals where you don't belong... Getting drilled and embarrassed in Regionals.... But hey, getting your banner for your District Runner Up = PRICELESS!!!! Good luck to NDA as they move on....

Everyone plays in this game. You want to gain momentum, but there is no sense in risking injury in the lopsided contest!

As a coach/player you can only control what you can control! Some officials let you play, some don't. Adjustments have to be made. Timeouts, end of quarters, halftime......

I don't think the officials had it out either, that isn't what I am saying. As a coach you have to adjust. If you go to a Holiday Tournament down south, you don't complain because they aren't 9th Region officials. You adjust.....
