  1. I wouldn't get your hopes up Ludlow faithful. While Hensley was a great coach at Ludlow, I don't think he's going to come back onto this side of the river to coach. I could be wrong though.
  2. NFL- Pacman Jones, Reggie Bush.. Can't say I don't like Peyton Manning after that SNL skit.. MLB-Griffey, anyone that plays for Boston or New York NBA-The Spurs in general Nascar-I would have to say Tony Stewart or Treux Jr.
  3. So does anyone know what kind of schedule Cooper is looking at?
  4. IMO with the enrollment at Cooper in a few years they could be a contender. At first it's going to be a little rough but after the kids digest the system and get older there's no reason why Cooper can't be a winning school.
  5. I agree with you. Going to a school like Cooper when every year there are going to be more and more kids enrolled in the school, the program should develop very nicely.
  6. Congrats Randy. It's going to be exciting to see this Cooper program build up over the next couple of years.
  7. I have been told the same thing. Congrats to Randy on getting the job. I have known him for a long time and I'm sure he will do a great job. Kids who are playing at Cooper had better be ready for a firey head coach who has great passion for the game of football.
  8. They have hired a new coach and he informed his former team today that he took the job.
  9. I've played softball with some of my old buddies down there a couple times and I believe it was a couple of days after it rained. I swear there were waves in the infield.
  10. I know this may be a little out there, but does anyone know of any pretty good athletes that have to make the transfer to Cooper?
  11. That's a good question. Kids that choose to go there won't be held out of sports will they?
  12. Doubt you'll see any change in the offensive scheme. While Ludlow does have 3 very capable RB's, they don't really have the type of offensive line that can establish an I-form offense. Ludlow is best suited to stay with the spread and run everything from the shotgun formation.
  13. Woodie should do a great job out at Walton Verona. I look forward to watching WV play this year.
  14. If I am not mistaken Mark Childress was the varsity assistant and Clary was the JV coach that year. So Chilly would have been making those important calls from fist. :ylsuper:
  15. Man and I thought for sure Highfield was going to be coach...
  16. Character problems do matter when they keep you off the field..
  17. Is Woodie McMillen going to be the head coach of the varsity program?
  18. I never stated that at all. I said it is a decision that should be given to people with a degree in education.
  19. I think the idea of a commitee is a good idea, but it should be limited. AD, Principal, Input from players. Not from community members, not from parents. While I understand its important for parents and community members to like their new head coach, I feel that the people who went to college and got their degree in Education should be the ones making the decision. More often than not parents are the first people to turn on a coach if little Joey isn't playing enough or if the coach makes a questionable call. Coaches are on the field and not in the stands for a reason. They know what they're doing. That goes for the people hired to make these decisions too. They are getting paid to make the decision. Support your team no matter who is the head coach or who the principal picked. High school sports are supposed to be about fun and more often than not, it gets turned into a lot of drama that really isn't needed and does nothing but distract players and coaches.
  20. Doubt that Highfield will take the job. He has said that he wouldn't do both sports in the past and he would rather coach basketball.
  21. Don't really see what you're getting at here. Hensley did do an excellent job, but he also had some of the best football players to ever go through Ludlow's school. Even with those players, he had 1 winning season out of the 3 he was there. To also say that Ludlow's offense scheme needs changing, I have to disagree. They lost their QB (Rouse) in the 4th game of the season. He came back for 3 games at the end of the year and still finished 2nd in passing yards. He had roughly 880 yards going into the fifth game before he injured his wrist. Ludlow's offense had two WR's finish in the top ten in NKY in touchdown receptions, receiving yards, and catches. When Rouse did go down, Ludlow found their QB to take over in Sophomore Zach Stegemoeller (sp.). He threw 4 touchdowns his first varsity start. Ludlow also had three runningbacks who combined for over 1000 yards and they are all returning next year. So to say that Ludlow needs an offensive change doesn't really make sense. I think Randy Borchers and the coaching staff down at Ludlow have things going in the right direction.
  22. If Bellevue wants to win this game, they have to believe they can do it. It's gotten to the point in these 1A schools where they look at Beechwood as untouchable. Anyone can be beaten on any day and I think this game will be closer than expected.
  23. First of all, congrats to Beechwood on getting to advance. Also congrats to Ludlow and their senior class for being only the 7th team in school history to make the playoffs. Coach Borchers did a great job gameplanning and keeping the team motivated. As long as Borchers is at the helm at Ludlow, the program will continue to get better. I think kids down there are starting to finally realize that they can play with anybody on anyday.
