I may get criticized for this comment, but here goes. I blame this loss on Coach Geiman-Eberhard. I'm sorry but when you are playing a team who is 10 times faster than you, you cannot afford to play man to man. #22 for Paris had a field day driving to the basket around a much slower defensive squad. I would have thought by the middle of the season teams would have learned to have a chance against Paris you need to play a zone. They don't penetrate as well and mostly stand outside the key and jack up 3s or long J's. Hopefully Bracken figures this out because I believe they are even slower than Brossart!

Rogers had a great game! 12 points I believe. Great win for Lady Bears hopefully they can carry this momentum to tomorrow night and upset the Ladyhounds!!

No doubt they are due. Paris has won 5 of the last 6 All A titles. Paris pulled the upset against Brossart last year and something tells me Brossart is out for revenge!!! I still take Paris in a close one. 39-34.

Ah its all relative. I still think it will be a 10 point game.

Haven't seen Mason play this year, but if they are the same team that beat Montgomery County last year, and the same Montgomery team this year that took LexCath to the wire in both games this season, I look for Mason to play LexCath close in this one!

They will definitley have a tough road to get there.

Back in my freshman days(early 90s) I remember a specific instance of going into a game with 19.1 seconds left along with another player off the bench. We looked at each other and said, I'd rather not even go in at all. But that was us. Some girls out there cherish those few seconds of playing time, especially if thats the only time they ever get. Plus in some cases some girls get a shot off in that little amount of time to get their names in the scoring column. However now as a coach if I can't get them in for at least a minute, I won't put them in at all simply to not take a chance of embarassment or have the parents come up to me and say how ridiculous that is.

Hot -I'd have to say Paris. They started the season 0-4 and after a nice showing in their own Christmas tourney, they have turned their season around and are 7-6 heading into the class A this week and are the heavy favorite to win the 10th. Not- Sorry Bracken County fans, you may talk a good game but you have yet to show you can knock off a top quality opponent. Make it to the finals of the all A and upset Paris or Broassart then I'll consider you a contender in the 10th.

Brossart may be playing well, but St. Pat has been on a roll themselves. I look for this game to be much closer than many expect.

I remember the Herald Leader saying that 16 of the 18 students in question were athletes, but did it specifically say which sport? Just curious as to why this thread is under the football forum?

Just moved to the area within the last year.. don't know much about northern KY, I am only going on what I've seen throughout central Ky.

There are some publics out there who will lure student athletes to their schools... And yes if KHSAA found out about it I'm sure these certain schools would never get to participate in championships ever again.

I think Paris, GRC, and Bourbon all need to be tied for that 3rd spot. They've all beaten up on each other so far this season.

On another note I have also noticed that quite a few athletes at LCA are stars in two sports. Take Lucas Witt for example. QB and pitcher I believe. Last year look at Emily London. Led her teams to state titles in tennis and basketball. Clara Mitchell.. basketball star and on softball team.... I'm sure there's tons more where those came from as well...

All of this would be solved if KHSAA did infact allow private schools to recruit and pay athletes tuition..... just put all the private schools in their own class.

Yes they do.. I guess I was "assuming" Brossart would come away with that win after comparing the two's schedules.

Good win for St. Pat. Hopefully the momentum carries to Paris on Wednesday and can pull of the upset against Bishop Brossart in the Class A!
