I feel like it would be a MAJOR upset for Danville to knock off LCA.... So - if this occurs...what do we think about my predicted RPI at the bottom? LCA finishes out 8-2 with wins over Danville, Washington County & RPI game against 6A Pleasure Ridge Park Beechwood finishes 10-0 with wins over Gallatin, Bracken and RPI game against 6A Campbell Co Mayfield finishes 9-1 with wins over Trigg Co, Fort Campbell and RPI game over 3A Central Owensboro Catholic finishes 9-1 with wins over McLean County & RPI game over 4A E-town Danville finished 9-1 with loss to LCA and win over 1A Caverna Belfry finished 9-1 with wins over Shelby Valley, Betsy Layne and 3A Letcher County Central Breathitt Co. finishes 8-2 with wins over West Carter & Jackson Co and loss to 3A Russell. Somerset finishes 9-1 with wins over Monroe County, RPI game over 6A Christian Co and 1A Hazard. Toughest games go project there are Breathitt vs. Russell and Somerset vs. Christian County... ...then I see this: Beechwood LCA The margin here will be very thin - but I think Beechwood narrowly holds onto 1 Owensboro Catholic Mayfield OC's win (in this scenario) over 4A E-town just barely gets them ahead of Mayfield who plays a lesser 3A Central Danville Belfry Somerset Breathitt County Danville drops in WP and their game against 1A Caverna doesn't help them, BUT the RPI separation now is too big for Belfry to jump over them. Somerset victory over 6A Christian County helps them leap over Breathitt County (who gets hurt by a loss to Russell)

Tough matchup for Walton. Happy for the Bearcat program that things are looking up (as I expected when they hired Coach Pence), but this one likely goes sideways early. Beechwood 56 Walton 7

While I agree Somerset is very good this year, based on what I'm seeing, their projected 3rd round matchup would be on the road vs. Owensboro Catholic. Not idea for the Briar Jumpers and I think the main reason why they're not being talked about more in these types of discussions. That said - Guy Turner is very very good.

I think they can, but I don't think they will -- variables in play that will make it very close. What I laid out was just MY prediction. Will be interesting to see how it plays out for sure.
