Carson Palmer thinks the Raiders are a Championship team, do you agree with him?

Featured Replies

“As far as being close to a playoff team, it’s more than that,” Palmer said, via Steve Corkran of the Bay Area News Group. “We’re close to a championship team. There’s a lot of work that needs to be put in and a lot of hurdles that we need to get over, but we need to be heading into this season thinking more than just playoffs.”

I don't agree, I think they have an issue at QB.

Probably the one piece holding them back the most.

I think if they lose Bush, it will hurt them too.

I would like to see Bush in Cincy.

I would too and said it a lot of last year. He would be one of my top targets if I were them. I'd think he'd like to be a little closer to home too, maybe.

I think they'll be pretty good for a few reasons:

1. Run DMC. The Raiders can run the football and that will take pressure off of any quarterback. McFadden, when healthy, is one of the best backs in the game. If the Raiders can keep Mike Bush, they have two legitimate running backs to share the load.

2. They have young, talented, and fast WR's. In Cincinnati, it was clear that Carson had lost control of the huddle. In Oakland, he won't have that problem.

3. They play in the AFC West. Year after year, the AFC West is one of the weaker divisions in football.

Do you think they will be able to keep Bush? If I were him, I'd want to go somewhere to be the #1. And McFadden when healthy is one of the best RB's in the league, but seems like he always misses a handful of games due to injuries.

It will be hard for them to pay both Bush and RunDMC.

Wouldn't it be stupid of him to say anything otherwise? I mean, it wouldn't sound very good if he's out there saying "We're going to suck. We've got some great players, but we probably won't be able to get it together for next season." I'm just sayin'.....

Fixed it.

I think in Madden 12 they are most definitely a championship team.

Depending on who is holding the controller.....

Thanks for fixing that CWB. When I read the article today that was in part my initial thought.

Where is futurecoach? This thread is right in his wheel house.
