Congrats to Coach Sully and coach Blevins!

It's also nice to see the fan support for Cooper this year. Every game I wento had large crowds and a very supportive student section. I know they sold out of their tickets the school received to sell in advance for this game but their regular season games had great support as well.

Guess this would help support the statement that Coach Tim Sullivan and his staff is one of the best in the 9th and one proving to be one of the better ones in the state. Congratulations CoopSquad

I thought the teams were reflections of their coaches tonight. Dixie was lethargic, stood around, failed to move off of the ball and passive. Cooper was energized, executed, took great shots, and Dixie provided single coverage to Louis P. Maniacci, allowing him to have a big night.

 

I've always felt that Dixie was only as good as their talent.

From the get-go Cooper had a lot of pep in their step and got after it.

They always seemed like they were in control throughout the game. Even when Dixie made their run, they kept their poise and stuck some big baskets.

Huge series of threes by Collins gave them the cushion that they needed.

I also thought once Dixie fell behind they tried to make it up all at once and started to panic.

The big kid went to work with Stansbury on the bench.

 

NCC will be an interesting test for Cooper.

 

So glad I caught this game. Seeing Cooper go to work gave me goose bumps and reminded me what I love about Ky High School Basketball. Their teamwork and undying drive was phenomenal. They played their hearts out. I'd love to see them keep this focus and intensity and win it all. I think that they can and they've got all the right elements in place lead by a darn good coach and backed by an enthusiastic supportive student fan base. This is the first time I've seen them play this year and in one game they've made me an instant Jags fan! :ylsuper:

On a side note, McFarland is going to be a head coach somewhere soon if he wants to.

At the end the game with about 50 seconds left when it was all but over I saw Coach Sully squat down and face his bench and he said something to them and a big smile showed on many of the kids faces. That guy is a players coach and even though he is intense, he seems to have all of those kids sold on his style.

 

Best of luck to the Jags. I think they have their work cut out for them on Saturday but if they can control the blocks they have a shot.
