February 22, 201214 yr MKG is a top 5 pick in the draft. He's an idiot if he comes back. Same goes for Davis (although he's the locked in #1 pick). Jones and Lamb are 50/50. Teague is coming back, unless he goes crazy the rest of the way. But I actually agree with this. I think Jones would come back before Lamb.
February 22, 201214 yr I don't think Teague or Lamb should leave, but I imagine both will. Just the way it works. The rest are mortal locks to leave.
February 22, 201214 yr Teague - has to stay. 6'2" guard averaging 32% from 3? He's not Rondo. Lamb - should stay. He doesn't have exceptional size, and he's not a true PG. I think he wants to go though. Wouldn't surprise me either way. Jones - should? go I guess... hard to say. MKG - should go, but might love college enough to come back (aka Florida's guys from a few years ago) Davis - should and will go
February 22, 201214 yr Just a question... How do we know MKG loves college so much? Maybe the kid just plays as hard as he can and wants to constantly be a basketball player?
February 22, 201214 yr Just a question... How do we know MKG loves college so much? Maybe the kid just plays as hard as he can and wants to constantly be a basketball player? That is what I was wondering. I believe people confuse love for basketball and plays hard with, "he loves playing collegiately for UK." Not that he does not enjoy himself, but not to the point he wants to return.

I think Teague will come back, and Lamb will leave just because he wants to go. Even if he knows he might be a late 1st round, 2nd round pick I see him leaving. Especially after him seeing someone like Liggins making the team as a 2nd round guy. So five of our top 6 guys will be gone next year IMO. Lamb, Miller, MKG, Jones, and Davis.
February 22, 201214 yr Just a question... How do we know MKG loves college so much? Maybe the kid just plays as hard as he can and wants to constantly be a basketball player? His demeanor seems to indicate he is really enjoying his time. :idunno: Everyone thought Knight would be the one to stay and Jones/Lamb would leave last year, so who knows what they'll decide.

I'll go out on a limb and say one of those guys stays (out of Lamb, MKG, Jones), but that's probably just wishful thinking. So for next year... PG: Teague, Harrow Wing: Goodwin, Hood, Beckham, (Shabazz!) Forward: Poythress, Wiltjer, Cauley, (Noel!)
February 22, 201214 yr Teague - has to stay. 6'2" guard averaging 32% from 3? He's not Rondo. In most years, I would agree. And ultimately, I think he'll be back. But here's something to consider: After Kendall Marshall, who is the next top PG prospect? That is the only reason I can see Teague leaving this year, b/c it's just not a deep PG draft. There's a kid from Weber State, but then who else? Taylor from Kansas? Tony Wroten, should he decide to come out? I think Brandon Knight would have returned had last year's draft had more PG depth. No way would he have gone in the top ten this year, so he was smart to go even though I feel like he would have liked to return. Same could happen for Teague this year, especially since the NBA drafts so much on potential. Does anybody know what Chad Ford is saying about the UK guys & where they might project?

Yeah, I was just wondering because I've never really read any comments anywhere or anything like that which indicated how much he loved college. I feel like I read things about Cousins in those regards. I really think the kid just loves playing ball and he gives his all.
February 22, 201214 yr I really think the kid just loves playing ball and he gives his all. This. I can't imagine anyone during the Cal era enjoying his time in Lexington more than Cousins. Maybe Patterson, but Cuz seemed to genuinely love UK life. I think MKG enjoys himself, but money speaks volumes to most young men. Cuz did the right thing for himself in leaving & I expect MKG to do the same. He seems to love playing the game & I imagine he'll love it even more when making millions.

Lillard (the Weber State kid) is the top ranked PG by scouts. Also, worth noting, most scouts feel Brad Beal can play the point at the next level as well. Chad Ford only currently projects two UK players as lotto picks, MKG and Davis.
February 22, 201214 yr Davis - #1 pick, he's gone. 0% chance he stays. MKG - even if I bought into the notion that he wants to stay, it won't matter. Cal will force him out the door. In no way will he hold back a top 5 pick. One of the things I really like about Cal, he puts his players first. 5% chance he stays Jones - Needs to go before his stock falls even more. I'd say there is only about a 10% chance he stays. Lamb - Now we get to where it's a little more questionable, but ultimately I think Lamb will get 1st round guarantees from a few teams and will go. 33% chance he stays. Teague - Definitely should not go, but there is a serious lack of PG's (though the need isn't as big either). I can see him getting some bad advice or a team liking his upside so I don't think it's a lock he will come back. 80% chance he stays.

But it goes back to what I said, I feel Cal wasn't going to allow him back and I think the same will happen to MKG.
