Yeah, KSD doesn't have to play this game. Boyle's girls won the 6 pm game 81-6. I'd be shocked if Danville varsity even played after halftime. It was 42-6 at one point is the text I got. Why is this game still played? As a courtesy? When was the last time KSD won this game?

In doing my research, I came across 4 years in the 80s when Potter Christian, a local Christian school at the time (and still a children's home), played in the 14th District tournament. The results were horrific. And it was worse in the girls' games. The last year they played, 1987, Potter's girls didn't even cross halfcourt on their first 6 possessions.

 

I understand some want to compete, but it is demoralizing for those kids.

KSD's only appearance in the regional was 1981. They beat Garrard County in the district (only a 4-team district at the time) to make the region, where they lost by 16 to Wayne County. Their best player was David Hamilton, considered one of the better players in 12th region history. But to my knowledge they haven't won a game in the district since. They've been close a couple times, to Casey and Danville in the early 90s and once against Garrard a few years ago, but really nothing else.

This 4/5 seed KSD game needs to end. It's pointless.

Same here. But this was one of KSD's weaker teams going against a pretty good Danville team. The result was, sadly, almost inevitable. KSD's had some nice players the last few years, but they've lost most of them to graduation.

My Aunt works at KSD. I don't feel bad for them because they don't feel bad for themselves. They go out there and have fun. They know they don't have a chance to win, or even compete, most of the time.

Danville/Lincoln - 22nd

 

Championship - 24th

 

So Boyle gets 3 days between games and the winner of Danville/Lincoln gets 1? How is that fair?
