February 21, 201214 yr Zeller and Ezeli don't count I guess? :idunno: Well, Davis did spend a good bit of the IU game in foul trouble, and look what happened. As far as Ezeli goes, he's not exactly what I would call polished offensively, the possessor of an array of NBA-type low-post moves.

February 21, 201214 yr So Tyler Zeller and UNC don't count? Gotcha. Thought you were talking about the IU Zeller. Seems like Davis spent more time on Henson in the UNC game.

February 21, 201214 yr Why does that matter? He wouldn't be guarding Sullinger if they matched up with OSU either. I'd say right off hand once Sullenger started abusing whoever the lesser defender was that started out on him -- which he would -- you'd see Davis spending some time on him.

Just like last year when he "abused" Harrellson? I'd love to see Sully attempt to "abuse" Davis. I don't think Sullinger abuses anyone on this team. And he didnt' abuse Harrellson in the tournament last year. He had good numbers in that game, but the majority of his points were from offensive rebounds when Harrelson helped off Sullinger to stop the drive and force a rough shot. Sullinger really only scored two baskets with posts moves last year. Jones and Davis would do very well against him in my opinion. I say that being a fan of Ohio State and I like to see them do well.
February 21, 201214 yr I'd love to see Sully attempt to "abuse" Davis. :thumb: That 6 inch vertical he has is really going to make it tough on Davis to block his shots.
February 21, 201214 yr I should be done with this thread but every time I look at it I still see people going back and forth with Jim over things that shouldn't even matter. A win is a win, no matter what. You cannot take what these other teams are doing against each other and then breakdown their outcomes against Kentucky. It's not the same, it's just not. How an Ole Miss or an Auburn plays against whoever and how they play against Kentucky are two different things. Teams get up for the Kentucky game (especially in the SEC). All these teams want to knock off not only Kentucky, but the #1 team in the land. This usually means Kentucky is going to get the best effort from each and every team they play, when they play somebody they are usually getting those teams' best shot. So comparing scores and outcomes of other games is irrelevant when comparing outcomes against Kentucky, its just not the same thing.
February 21, 201214 yr Thought you were talking about the IU Zeller. Seems like Davis spent more time on Henson in the UNC game. I just re-watched that game a couple of days ago & Davis spent most of his time on Zeller when both he & Henson were on the floor. As far as Sullinger, he's going to get his against Davis or Jones. I don't know if people remember, but he was a stud last year against UK in the tournament (21 pts, 16 rebs, 7-14 FG's, 7-9 FT's).

February 21, 201214 yr That's the other elephant in the room. If I'm a Kentucky fan, I'm not relishing any matchup against a team with a big man who's competent offensively. I especially would hope Sullenger and Co. are far on the other side of the bracket. As a Kentucky fan, there's no team out there that scares me. Certainly, I wouldn't mind getting to play Pikeville, Union, Berea, Kentucky State, Sullivan and Campbellsville in the Big Dance. But, Kentucky presents more problems to any opponent than vice versa. I think you nailed it in Post #85. The "drifts in concentration" are my biggest concern. I can certainly see a scenario where that could end UK's season.
