I say bring on the 90's, humidity and drought right now for the next 10 months, let's get it stqrted

The Winter Storm Warning has been downgraded to a Winter Weather Advisory for some of Central Kentucky. The Winter Storm Warning is still in effect for Southeast Kentucky.

It looked pretty much yesterday that the moisture would stay to the south, but I think more people watch the news and weather if they keep predicting the worst.

I guess more would read my threads to if I keep posting about what the models were showing. Predicting the weather is not easy. Computer models can show only a part of what is going to happen. There are other variables like the severe weather that they had along the gulf coast. This served like a trap door and stop some of the gulf moisture from coming this way. The severe storms weren't showing on the models that I saw. Also people are so quick to criticize when weather forecasters are wrong but not nearly as fast to compliment when they are right.

 

I, by no means, consider myself a meteorologist but I now have a better understanding of what they go through when trying to predict what storm will do. Sometimes you are right and sometimes you are wrong.

 

I'm going to ring my own bell this once. The Sunday we had all of the bad weather I looked at the models and thought we might have some severe storms and maybe a tornado or two. Now SPC didn't even issue a watch or warning. I just happened to get it right that one time. It maybe the only time but maybe just maybe someone was saved or was able to be prepared. That is what the most important thing about predicting the weather in my opinion.

Not to mention Wal-Mart and Kroger love it judging on the cars in the lots. Do welfare checks come out every week of the month?(that's another subject). As stated before,lets just get on with our 10 months of summer, the old time winters have been a thing of the past around here for 20 years.

Better watch out - we have a lot of folks on here who don't want to hear about climate change.

NWO, you do weather better than the guys who get paid on tv. I think they all deserve to be fired, they are consistently wrong and IMO rank up there with lawyers and car salesmen as liars. What profession can you be wrong 80% of the time and still keep your job. They should never be allowed to predict more than 2 days ahead, they can't even get the current day right.

It doesn't matter to some if the meteorologist get it right or not they would still complain. If they called for 1 inch of snow and got 2 or 3 they would complain. If they said it would rain and it didn't they would complain. If the prediction was for 80 degrees and sunny and they got 75 and clouds they would complain.

 

It is like the people, in Richmond awhile back complained that the trains wouldn't blow their horns at the crossing late at night. So when the train engineers started doing it they complained that it mess with their sleep. Or the emergency management of Madison County wouldn't sound a warning at night about severe weather people complained. When they started doing it now people complain that they sound it too much.

 

But let those who complain about the wrong predictions have something happen to them then lets see what they say.

I got a whole big bunch of nothing at my house. Not even rain. Frankly, my kids and I are disappointed.

I tell you what I'm going to do the next time I see that severe weather or there is a call for snow I'm not going to post anything. I'm not wasting my time. I spent hours at work and home checking on the weather. Let's see what people say then.

I hear ya, nWo. Some people just want to complain about anything. It's the same way when weather means that school's might be canceled. I know some that will complain if it is canceled and will complain just the same if it is not.

 

I, for one, appreciate your weather reporting. I don't really check weather anywhere but here.

Please keep up the good work! This is the only place I look for weather. On TV the weather maps and models are gone before I can figure out where we live. So I like to study them on BGP! Thanks!
