Birds led 10-9 and the subbing began. Mcqueary must have shot 70% from the field. He hit everything he threw up it seemed. Saturday afternoon games IMO are awful. No students show up and the atmosphere is pitiful.

Refs were awful as well. They didn't determine the game but another Highlands hating ref put the screws on the Birds. If it's not Freppon it's known Birds hater Tim Ohara. Unreal calls, embarrassing IMO.

Boone played tough man-man defense which should create more offensive attacking but Highlands seemed content running their flex set down 14. I liked the run and gun style they began the year with but the current personnel doesn't allow that style I guess, it's the only thing I can think of that could be holding it back.

Leadership on the court is lacking severely.

Yeah I guess a multiple time Sweet 16 referee isn't good enough to call the mighty 7 win 14 loss Highlands games.....

Are you kidding me? Ohara is one of the best in the region. Sounds like you may be getting a little frustrated with the birds sub par season and two big back to back losses.

Towles should be the leader of this team. He has always shown good leadership IMO. Witte kid is a really nice player and could be a floor leader as well.

No i think OHara is a great referee but he stunk yesterday plain and simple. Its also Well known apparently That he doesnt like Highlands, from what ive heard.

I have almost 15,000 posts give me a break on the whining about officials because of a tough season. Not the case at all and like i said it didnt cause Highlands to lose just an observation.

By the way this is the toughest 3 game stretch probably any team in KY has to play for the Birds. 18-5 Holmes, 20-5 Boone Co and 24-2 Holy Cross looms on Tuesday.

The problem isn't just the losing. It's not being competitive in any of them. They need a strong showing Tuesday.

That is probably as tough as it gets for N. Ky. opponents. How about this final 3 for CCH - Dixie, Simon Kenton, Madison Central.

The Birds had a nice stretch of games just 2 weeks ago. After catching a soft couple of games on the schedule they battled NCC down to the wire and then dominated a Walton team that has been competitive.

This has been followed by a poor effort at Conner and 2 blow out losses to Holmes and Boone. Holy Cross up next.

Only a few games left to get back to the level that had them 1 possession from pulling the upset on the hill.

Back to the game, Boone Did not impress me as being a strong contender for the Región title. Mcqueary was on fire and C.Stanley played Well but Nobody else really asserted themselves as being a difference maker on the court. I just dont think they have the depth to win more than one Regional game.

Could they be prime for an upset @ Cooper this week? Cooper needs a win to secure the #2 seed in the district and I can guarantee you that coach Sullivan will have somebody in McQueary's face all night long.

Isn't that the case for most everyone that didn't go to Highlands? Sorry, couldn't resist.
