Well there goes most peoples favorite for the Campbell tourney. I knew Newport beat Ludlow in the first game of the tourney today, does anyone got any other scores from the tourney?

I know Lloyd lost but I don't remember the score to Central Hardin.

 

Michael Romes is an excellent player and Morgan Cty had no answer for him in the 1st half as he had 22 points. In the 2nd half they decided to just hold him everytime he came into the lane. Outstanding performance. He's a top 2 or 3 player in the region IMO.

I don't know a lot about the romes kid. I did gwt to watch him play a few times last year, I will have to say that I was impressed with him.

Hey Beechwood fans, you have a pretty good basketball team. I know football has spoiled you but you might want to come watch.

Morgan County lays a complete egg tonight.

 

One of the worst overall performances in a long while for the Cougars. However, you must give credit to the Beechwood Tigers. They do deserve positive recognition for their "W".

 

Michael Romes is an outstanding player. The best maybe the Cougars have seen in a while. His style trumped Morgan's perimiter pressure.

 

Morgan had an abundance of fouls...maybe someone could give the exact number of consecutive trips Morgan County fouled. 7,8 or 9 trips?

 

Morgan entered the game taking excellent care of the basketball but chunked it all over the place and looked like a solid 12 and under team. I eat my words about saying Morgan County was going to go into the game with a lot of fire in the gut. So someone can gladly tell me to eat that crow.

 

Beechwood was the deserving winners. Even though Morgan evaporated the Tiger 11 point lead to 1 at 51-50, Morgan didn't deserve the "W" for their GOLDEN EGG. Wasted road trip! Should've been the chant!

 

The true tale of this team will be how they bounce back from the embarrassing loss. A) Find guts and an attitude or B) Lay down and roll over and hike the leg up.

 

Lastly, the 16th region laid the biggest egg...with Boyd County matching the Cougar performance tonight. Both teams couldn't hit water if they fell out of a boat. It might have been best if someone would've hit the abort button for both school's tonight.

From what I hear coming from both games is that the officiating was horrible against Morgan and Boyd, but was not the reason either team lost. I think both teams had already looked ahead to playing each other in the championship game and forgot that they had to win 2 games to get there.

Although I thought the Morgan Cty/Beechwood game was maybe a little over

officiated I don't think it was onesided in anyones favor. Both teams recieved some bad calls but it wasn't why Morgan Cty lost. When they did close to within 1 point they missed a few free throws that Beechwood was able to rebound and convert into points.
