Beechwood 67 Morgan Co 60

Featured Replies

Didn't Morgan Co. have a nice undefeated start to last season too and then could not sustain and didn't do much in the region? Or was that the year before last?

All work no play,

Morgan Co. had an early exit in the 1st rd of the region due to circumstances beyond their control. When kids get zero sleep and are not prepared because of an unforturnate accident then the end result of their unexpected season's end is understandable.

Also, the bullseye squarely on the COUGARS back last season with 15 games being decided by 15 points or less...seemed like every team gave the cougars their "A" game.

Shouldn't be hard to motivate both Morgan and Boyd for today's matchup. So much for Morgan being mentioned for the BGP top 20.

Morgan County lays a complete egg tonight.

One of the worst overall performances in a long while for the Cougars. However, you must give credit to the Beechwood Tigers. They do deserve positive recognition for their "W".

Michael Romes is an outstanding player. The best maybe the Cougars have seen in a while. His style trumped Morgan's perimiter pressure.

Morgan had an abundance of fouls...maybe someone could give the exact number of consecutive trips Morgan County fouled. 7,8 or 9 trips?

Morgan entered the game taking excellent care of the basketball but chunked it all over the place and looked like a solid 12 and under team. I eat my words about saying Morgan County was going to go into the game with a lot of fire in the gut. So someone can gladly tell me to eat that crow.

Beechwood was the deserving winners. Even though Morgan evaporated the Tiger 11 point lead to 1 at 51-50, Morgan didn't deserve the "W" for their GOLDEN EGG. Wasted road trip! Should've been the chant!

The true tale of this team will be how they bounce back from the embarrassing loss. A) Find guts and an attitude or B) Lay down and roll over and hike the leg up.

Lastly, the 16th region laid the biggest egg...with Boyd County matching the Cougar performance tonight. Both teams couldn't hit water if they fell out of a boat. It might have been best if someone would've hit the abort button for both school's tonight.

I feel your pain!

I'd have to think the addition of Chaz Moore has helped out this Beechwood team alot also.

No Question...Chaz is the best athlete at Beechwood. :ylsuper:

I dont know everyone at Beechwood but ill take your word for it. I forgot that he played basketball at Bellevue when he was there. He was one of Belleuvue's best players back then as a Sophomore so him and Romes should be a good combo.

:thumb: You just hate to see the choke occur when you go to NKY to play! Most of the schools up there already think they are better than the EKY teams anyway! I guess with the games played by Ashland, Boyd (2), and Morgan, the 16th can't really argue the point!

No Question...Chaz is the best athlete at Beechwood. :ylsuper:

Yea, it does not hurt to have 2 athletes the Caliber of Chas Moore and Eric Sawyer that play all three sports and play all three at high lvls. Then you add two pure basketball talents like Mike Romes and Zach Miracle. Makes for a pretty good team.
