Survivor: One World (Updates)

Featured Replies

I have seen most of the seasons, but not all of them. I have to say of the ones I watched, this one is at the bottom 2.

I do agree with FKYW on Parvati though.

Kim reminds me somewhat of Amanda, who I believe was on three seasons of the show?

No way is this at the bottom. I laughed for almost 45 minutes solid when the guys gave up immunity.

Can you think of one that was worse? Most seasons usually have some memorable people anyway. I remember "Earl's" season wasn't great.

So it's fine to enjoy watching people lie and backstab each other for a million dollars as long as they are nice when they lie and backstab?

That's the game. I don't like the seeming obsessive need by boorish people like Rob and Russell and Colton to not only lie and back stab but then to go into the confessional and become personally insulting. It's one thing to say so and so is playing a bad game it's another thing altogether to say that so and so is the most stupid person that's ever lived.

I hear you. Everybody is different. Rob and Russell didn't bother me. For me they were playing the game which calls for lying and backstabbing. Russell was a bully and egotistical but I believe a lot of that was for show. Colton seemed like he harbors racist and classist views in life and seemed out of touch with reality in some aspects and it was disturbing to see someone who made no effort to hide those flaws be able to successfully lead people to do what he wanted.

If you eliminate Phillip then I'm DEFINITELY picking this season over Rob's. Even with Phillip it's close. I'll wait until it's over to make that decision.

This is definitely better than the Fabio season.

Earl's season had Yau Man though. But it was pretty awful.

I can see that some but I think Kim is clearly a superior player. I do hope that she didn't take final tribal lessons from Amanda. Amanda has to be the worst ever at final tribal.

Another thing I just thought about as I read your reply. I think I read somewhere that the contestants don't have any idea what's going to be shown and see the other players confessionals for the first time when the episodes are aired. You can say it's part of the game but it has to be extremely uncomfortable at best and downright painful at worst to watch what is said about you by some of the more boorish players. Again maybe I'm an old fogey but I don't see how it serves any purpose towards game play to be personally insulting towards another player in confessionals.

If I was stuck on an island with some of these people, I'd have a really hard time not saying something mean in the confessionals. It's really the only time you have to vent about anything.

I don't disagree but I also don't like it.

That's a good point.

If I was in the same situation I would be completely and totally honest in my confessionals. I remember when Rob blindsided Grant and felt awful about it and admitted as such in the comfessional. I believe he even apologized to Grant in the confessional before he blindsided him and Grant was still mad anyways. Nice or not people will get mad when they are deceived. If I thought someone was dumb depending on if they got on my nerves or not you would still get the truth in the comfessional. How nice I am about it depends on how much I like them.

Well played!

I was thinking about mentioning Phillip's drawers the other night.

This really made me laugh, but then I realized you reminded me of Phillip's pink underwear. And then it wasn't very funny.
