“More debates, more vetting of candidates because we know the mistake made in our country four years ago was having a candidate that was not vetted, to the degree that he should have been,” Palin explained. “I want to see that taking place this time because America is on this precipice — it’s that important. We need this process to continue."

 

When she said "he" -- it was a slip -- she really meant to say "I", right???

While I wish Palin would just go away your way off. Once Palin was picked as McCain's running mate you could barely pick up a paper without reading something about her past or present.

Maybe, maybe not. But it doesn't matter, that's not what the point of the thread is. The way I understand it is fkyw is saying Palin wasn't vetted which couldn't be further from the truth. If that's not what he is saying I retract my post.

Didn't that have to do with the fact that she emerged out of nowhere and there was genuine public interest? And then they put a microphone in front of her.......

If I'm Newt, I'm smh at this...If I'm Romney, I look behind me, see I've got Nikki Haley and Chris Christie, Newt's got Sarah Palin, and I get a huge grin on my face. :lol:

I guess I should have clarified this more. I think McCain did a horrible job vetting Palin and I find it humorous that she would even say something negative about someone else not properly being vetted. She wouldn't have a voice at all if the McCain camp would have properly vetted her. Though in all fairness, I'm sure being attractive doesn't hurt.

I really don't see how people think Obama got a big time pass. To me he received just as much scrutiny as McCain did. But playing DA and saying he did get a pass -- it's probably because a bunch of idiots wanted to spend an inordinate amount of time debating his citizenship, birthplace, or alleged Islamic beliefs.

I agree with this completely. Had the same idiots focused on real issues, we might not be having this debate. And Ms.Palin, you were as responsible as any in keeping the focus on his citizenship, birthplace and alleged beliefs.

 

When McCain picked Palin, I was reservedly interested. It quickly became apparent he picked her hastily to try and get the female vote....and that ticked me off. I was not only put off by the gratuitious play for my vote, but by the lack of quality he picked to do so. He'd have had a better chance to get my vote by choosing someone like Fred Thompson.

Exactly and many of these people, like Mrs. Palin are the ones complaining now. Zero sympathy from me in this regard.
