Sad news out of Brooksville today, as senior Sara Sticklen learns that the injury she suffered vs. Bishop Brossart in last week's Class A Tournament was indeed a full tear of the ACL & also a tear in the meniscus. She is sidelined for six months, meaning not only is her high school basketball career over, but so is softball.

 

I speak for many Bracken County faithful when I say it's been a privilege to watch this young lady play in the last few years. I mentioned in a previous thread that Sara excels on and off the floor & she comes from an absolute top-notch family. I personally believe her to be the top female athlete in the school's history & the Bracken County program has been (and continues to be) blessed by her presence.

 

Though this is certainly very sad news, we know Sara will have plenty of playing days ahead of her at the collegiate level, should she so choose that path. I wish her the best of luck & a full recovery! :thumb:

 

As for the Bracken County Lady Bears basketball & softball teams, you have lost your best player & senior leader. Yet you still have the talent & drive to accomplish great things for your school. As a proud alum, I fully support you & cannot wait to see you ladies leave it all on the floor & field.

Can anyone shed some light on torn acl's, twenty years ago I couldn't tell you one person (boy or girl) that went through this. If I am thinking correct this is Brackens 4th girl in 4 years.
