Holmes/Holy Cross Postponed

I believe so, but am not certain. He certainly was banging on Campbell. Probably was going to continue the physical stuff and then use Englemon late, although he is not nearly as physical as Knox. One of his fouls was an attempted block on someone other than Campbell, looked like he got ball, but could have gotten the kid with his body although he was trailing the play. Knox really was motivated offensively, also. He made one great move down low and scored and then had another easy one where he walked because he slipped. Holmes was going to the hole and making Campbell work down low. They were not backing away or intimidated. You have to deny him the ball or you have no chance. It was pretty clear that when he gets it down low he is going to score a lot more often than not.

Air conditioning.

Seems like an ongoing issue. What would fix this problem?
Every team deserves to play games on their home court, this only happens during warm weather ad had been mentioned, Home court is a slight advantage.

Thompson had 10 points and 1 assist after one.

I'm sorry, I meant to say in on 10 points, 8 points and an assist.

Game has been rescheduled for Thursday, January 12...JV at 6, Varsity 7:30 @ HC

I'd have to say the postponment works in Holmes' favor. HC wants to wear you down over the course of 4 quarters with their depth, and it was playing big time in their favor with the Dogs having two starters in foul trouble at the end of the first. The Holmes guys will still have 2 fouls when the game resumes, but they only have to handle it over 3 quarters now. I still think the Crossbacks are the better, deeper team and will win, but this is something that helps the Dogs out a bit.

I think the court conditions played in HC favor in that first quarter. Holmes had two turnovers that led to HC points due to a Holmes player slipping and then Knox travelled and fell while attempting a WIDE OPEN lay up.

This will be a good game when It's replayed. I wouldn't be so quick to say one team has the advantage over the other. If Campbell gets in foul trouble, HC is in trouble. He didn't like how physical Knox was with him.

HC had one turnover early also due to the court conditions. This is far from a done deal. These teams are evenly matched.

Both teams are deep, I don't think depth will be a factor.

See post #34...

I think they should start the game over from the beginning, you can't tell who had the advantage or disadvantage under those conditions.

Yeah, I'm trying to figure out in what world Holy Cross would have more depth than Holmes, a school with several hundred more kids.

No one had the advantage or disadvantage. They were playing on the same floor.

It seemed to me Holmes players were slipping far more than the Holy Cross team members. But in the spirit of fairness to start over would be a disservice to the game. Holmes clearly earned the 4 point advantage on the slick floor that was under both teams feet.
