Clay County 62 Bishop Brossart 57

Clay County emerges as the Lloyd Invitational Tournament third place finisher.

For the second night in a row, the Mustangs fall behind by double-figures at halftime, rally back to take the lead and then succumb late.

Kodi Reed led Clay (11-4)with 14 points and was named to the all-tournament team. He was matched point-per-point by freshman point guard Tyler McDaniel with 14, Stephon Lyttle added 10 for the Tigers. Steven Wagers was Clays second all-tournament recipient.

Brossart (10-2), playing without the services of leading scorer Justin Saunders (nursing a sprained ankle) were led by Senior Zach Fardo, who nailed four three-pointers, and Mustang big man Joe Jennings with 11. Jennings who scored 20 last night vs Bowling Green was named to the all-tournament team.

On a side note, Clay County freshman guard Chip McDaniel, who had 14 points in this game, is probably the best high school golfer in the state. He was named Mr. Golf this year and won several national tournaments. His brother Todd is a freshman on the UK golf team, and I assume UK will be after Chip as well.

I'd like to see him and 6'6 NCC Frosh stud Drew McDonald play a round. He has won some big tournaments as Well. Interesting tidbit professor.

They missed him. This game should not have been as close as it was. Clay Co. had opportunities to keep this a double digit lead all game. Fardo was uncontested on the Perimeter to keep Brossart in it.

Congrats to all of those making the all tourney team.

Tourney team roster?

Tourney team roster?

I was replying to Mustang as he posted the ones from Clay Co and BB that made it. Maybe someone in that area can help us out with the rest of the All Tourney team.

Since they gave them out at the conclusion of each game throughout the day, I was not privvy to all of the honorees. I'm sure someone from Lloyd could provide that information.

mustang, would you please list Brossart's opponents? Thanks in advance.

Brossart's opponents????

In the LIT - Ludlow, Newport Central Catholic, Bowling Green and Clay County

Upcoming: Beechwood, Campbell County, Holy Cross, Pendleton County, and then the 10th Region "A" Tournament.

Following the "A" - Newport, Harrison County, NCC, Augusta, Scott, Lloyd, and Mason County

No disrespect to Clay Co. but I was kind of surprised by this score. Thought BB would win this game but I guess playing without Saunders made a big difference.
