Conner fans should be thrilled with the play of Carter Byrns tonight. He's a really good kid and very laid back. Good to see him make outside shots, drive to the basket, play physical D, and throw a good forearm even if it did correctly result in a T. He needs that fire.

 

Coach Hicks has always been high on "Carty" and his game.

Ruthsatz had 34. 11/15 from the field and 1/1 from three and 11/11/ from the line. One of the best shooting nights on CovCath Radio.

 

That sir is what the twitter-verse would call #winning. Very impressive stat line. Looking forward to seeing this kid in the near future.

Ruthsatz is a stud. Pure stroke from the perimeter, good mid-range game, and can get to the hole. He's the complete package.

Was completely surprised at the small crowd of Conner fans attending this game. I am guessing and it's only a guess on my part but it sure looked like CovCath had as many students attending the game as Conner did and CovCath had more adult fans attending than did Conner. This game at Conner used to attract a huge crowd of Conner fans along with their band, just surprised the heck out of me and had me scratching my head as to why such a poor crowd!

Honestly no idea but Conner has in past years always had a very good crowd for the CovCath game!

Clyde I'm not sure that is the kind of "fire" Conner needs. Shoving another player in the chest after the whistle doesn't represent fire or toughness. In fact, it's dumb and selfish, especially when it results in a T in a game in which the outcome was still undecided. I'd prefer to see him go after rebounds, box out, be physical on defense and be a vocal leader. As a senior, that's the kind of "fire" this young team needs. I do agree that it was great to see Byrns finally have some offensive success. If he continues to gain confidence and shoot the ball well it will really help improve this Conner team.

It is exactly what Conner needs to see. Carter can be a key for this team and letting his teammates know they're not going to get pushed around IS a sign of leadership. In addition, if I were his coach I would be thrilled to see that fire come to the surface even if it cost me 2 points in ONE GAME. It's two games in a row that he has played physical basketball. Love it.
