Quarterbacks at Highlands

Featured Replies

Yes 6'2" 175 as a Freshman WR. Kid is all athlete. Have seen him workout at ASAP in Covington. Since everything was pretty much decided in Spring Ball, never got to see what he could do at QB. Fought through a high ankle sprain in preseason, but came back as a dominate receiver if you can get the ball to him. Time will tell.

He could but I dont see it. Drew got some excellent reps this season as a soph and will get more next year. Hoge would-be have to grow taller and really outshine Houliston. Jmo

The first time I ever saw Drew play I loved him. He is going to be very very good, for a sophomore he looked to darn polished. He must work at his game a lot.

Drew has the tools. Very smart kid. Honestly, has the build of Pat as a soph.. I am looking forward to seeing Drew lead the Birds to yet another state title. The sophomore class is as good as there has been at HHS (IMHO). They will be fun to watch.

There is an out of state transfer this year that plays QB but never got the opportunity to try out for the Freshman, top athlete, NFL pedigree, etc. Let's see what happens next year for JV.

How so?

Feggins' father played pro football for a few years.

On a side note, Coach Mueller told "INSIDE" newsmagazine yesterday that he believes Donavan McCoy and Drew Houliston areboth All State caliber quarterbacks. McCoy is #1 on the depth chart but the position is up for grabs until one proves more ready than the other. He also said Seidl will see action next season in the slot back position.

Both are going to be very good quarterbacks. I believe it is Donvans job to lose next year. Drew should take over as a senior. I do look for Drew to contibute next year some where.

He is not a transfer...If he starts going to HHS his frosh year he is not a transfer...

Interesting to read this thread and not hear much about Beau Hoge. Where does he fit into the picture. Based upon the scenarios discussed, he will have to wait until he is a senior to see the field? Realize that he is skilled enough to play other positions, but is he willing to do that when he has been trained to be a quarterback? Feggins will be a receiver next year and I would say he will get some varsity minutes.

If this is Howard Feggins, he played 11 games in 1989 for the New England Patriots. DB with zero tackles but he did have 1 interception.

He is not that tall. He might weigh 175 though. Will be interesting to see how he progresses.

I do not believe Beau will see the field as a quarterback. If he does, it will be as a senior (barring injury). JMHO

From what I saw, Beau did a fine job with the frosh team this past season, but I would be very, very surprised to see him pass Drew on the depth chart. Best of luck to both kids.

Nit Picking, sorry that's what is listed in the State program.

I hear that there is an incoming Frosh (Red devil) that will challenge for the starting varsity spot by the time he is a soph. Big strong kid who can already throw the ball 50+ yards accurately.

I always tell people there is no more skilled player than the "incoming unseen player."
