December 8, 201114 yr Peter Frampton had one hit album. The Beastie Boys have been doing groundbreaking music for 25+ years. Bad argument, '70s guy. I lot of people think that the Beastie Boys went away after " You Gotta Fight for Your Right to Party," or the "License to Ill" album. But they have never stopped making awesome music.
December 8, 201114 yr I just read on WCPO.com that the 2012 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductees have been announced. The inductees included: Guns N' Roses, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Beastie Boys, Donovan, The Faces, and songwrite Laura Nyro (wrote "When I die" for Blood, Sweat, and Tears). I'm not too thrilled with this group. Still can't believe that they have inducted KISS, Heart, Rush, or Grand Funk Railroad. :irked: I totally agree. Ridiculous.
December 8, 201114 yr I think Guns n' Roses are deserving. I'm glad to see the Faces getting some love. Very underrated and underappreciated band. Never knew Rod could rock like that until I heard them. I agree on Rush. They should be in the HOF. One hit album passes muster for you?
December 8, 201114 yr Just wondering about that I knew there had to be some kind of time frame. RHCP wasn't really on anyones radar until 1991's Blood Sugar Sex Magic. They did some amazing stuff on their earlier records. The three albums prior to BSSM were fantastic, especially "Freaky Styley."

December 8, 201114 yr One hit album passes muster for you? Hard to say since I happened to enjoy their other two albums and whatever "Lies" is classified as. I even liked "The Spaghetti Incident". But, "Appetite" was a classic, for sure. I'm good with it as long as "Chinese Democracy" isn't included as one of their albums in the HOF.

December 8, 201114 yr Author To be honest, I'd rather see a group like Judas Priest or Motorhead get in before GNR. As for Frampton, you could argue that he deserves to be in for his work with Humble Pie and his live album is still be greatest selling live album ever!! What shocked me is GNR got in on their first ballot. I heard on the radio this morning there are only about a dozen folks that got in on their first ballot. So they join the likes of the Ray Charles, The Beatles, and Led Zeppelin (this is what the DJ said, I'm not 100% certain on the facts)
